00:00Durham Red Bull captain Alex Lees has said that his side were happy to earn a draw away at the Oval against Surrey this week in the county championship, following the hosts' mammoth total in their first innings. Lees, though, managed two centuries.
00:15Yeah, of course. I think, you know, overall we're pretty happy with the draw. I think, obviously, when they got 820, I think we needed to show some real character, you know, not just to cave in.
00:25I think, you know, we showed that, obviously, in abundance. I think it epitomised last night with Ben Rayne, obviously, batting injured, shows the type of characters that we have in our dressing room.
00:35And, like I say, I thought Amelia obviously played really nicely, obviously, today. And, like I say, we're happy that we came with a draw.
00:43Going back to yesterday when you were kind of just very simple, just batting the remaining two days, how do you deal with that as a batter and as a captain, in particular, in terms of knowing that the only thing against you is time, really? How do you kind of just find it within you to keep going?
00:57Yeah, well, obviously, just batting. I don't think anything really changes, to be honest. I think the approach today is probably slightly different, because you know where you're at. But I think you're just trying to bat in just a normal innings, really.
01:08I think, obviously, you've got lots of time on your hands, so you know you can make big scores. And we obviously knew it was a good wicket.
01:14And now, some very sad news to bring you from the world of football, and that is the tragic death of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota,
01:22who was being killed in a car accident alongside his brother, Andre Silva, in Spain. The two were travelling in the early hours of Thursday morning in a Lamborghini,
01:33when, according to reports, a tyre burst, causing the car to veer off-road and set on fire.
01:40Jota was only 28 at the time of his death, with his brother, Andre, being 26.
01:46Jota had played for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool during his time in England,
01:52and recently won the Nations League with his native, Portugal, having, of course, also just won the Premier League with Liverpool just last season.
02:00He leaves behind his wife, who he only recently got married to, as well as their three children.
02:06Liverpool and Wolves have paid their respects, as well as several other clubs across this country and, indeed, Europe.
