00:00Durham head coach Ryan Campbell has said that he is proud of his players after they battled to come back and earn a draw against Surrey at the Oval.
00:09I think that obviously after the first two days that we had, you know, it's very easy to be shell-shocked after that.
00:16Like, there's a few obviously bowlers with scars and stuff, but the facts are that we could have very easily folded.
00:23I'm incredibly proud of how our side battled back for the next two and a bit days.
00:30You know, guys like Ben Raine, who literally were in hospital the other day, you know, coming out just to get us a few more overs, you know, out of the game was an incredible effort.
00:40So, I actually look at the game very positively.
00:43Yes, they batted brilliantly, but the facts are, it's a draw.
00:47You know, like I say, we could have folded, but we didn't.
00:50And again, that shows the Durham spirit.
00:51Got to talk about Alex Lees with the bat, really kind of set the tone yesterday and today with how he went about it.
00:58Today with Emilio Gay, yesterday with Ollie Robinson, just when we needed him, captain stepped up.
01:03Well, that's what you want from your leaders and your senior players, isn't it?
01:06And, you know, he's found a very nice vein of form recently, you know, in both formats of the game.
01:14And Middlesbrough's head coach Rob Edwards has refused to specify a target for the upcoming championship season with the Teesside Club, saying instead he just wants to see improvements from the side.
01:26Yeah, look, we want to see improvement and it's hard, I know it's hard to define that.
01:34Improvement can come in many forms.
01:36Obviously, league position, we want to improve.
01:38But everywhere then, goals against, goals for, everything, you know, we want to try and improve in all areas and we want to have a team that the supporters are really proud to watch.
01:51And I know they really have been and there's been lots of good things that have gone on, but hopefully we see a reflection of what I want to try and bring to it.
02:01If the fans are proud to watch the team and they're clapping us off, they're clapping the lads off, you know, win-lose or draw, they can see the 100% effort consistently, then I think we're on to something.
