00:00Hi, I'm Tracy Carlisle, also known as Sam of Sam's Sarnies, Armley Road in Leeds.

00:05OK, so, we've got a little bit of an announcement. It's the end of an era?

00:08Yes, end of an era. 30 years. I've been here, proud to be here for 30 years, and I'm calling it a day.

00:14Why is that?

00:15Just because I want to spend more time with my children and my young grandchildren.

00:19There's four of them under six years old, and working as hard as I do for as long as I do,

00:24it'd be nice to enjoy it more. So, yeah, passing the business on to someone else.

00:30So, remain open, and I'd love you all to support them, the same as you have done me over 30 years,

00:35which I've thoroughly enjoyed.

00:36Right, that's good. So, you've got a list of sandwiches behind you.

00:39Yeah.

00:39So, what's the kind of classic appearance of regulars?

00:41Ooh, so, for hot sandwich, a bit and an egg or a bit and a sausage are very popular.

00:46And in the cold ones, Ham's a frontrunner with salad. We offer different breads. Yeah.

00:53But what about regulars? Have you got lots of regulars?

00:55Lots of regulars. Lots of have had lots of regulars.

00:56Some people will also boast. They've been coming in for 30 years, which is wonderful.

01:01Some 25. I mean, the staff here, one of them's been here 25, one's been here 15.

01:06So, it's been like a community. I've loved every minute of it.

01:09I've had some whales of time. So, so much laughter, so much fun.

01:13Used to be very much industrial-based, so we've got lots of workmen.

01:17And when the pubs were open, the bantering, I loved it. I've just, I've enjoyed it.

01:22The houses over the road, the people, they're like neighbours, they're like friends.

01:26They've all looked out for me. I've looked out for them. We've helped each other in the pandemic, the recessions.

01:33You know, there's been a lot gone on in 30 years. But, yeah, it's been a journey.

01:37And what about your sandwich? Have you got a favourite?

01:39Erm, ooh, tuna and cucumber have been mine.

01:44Right, well, I suppose for everybody around here, you know, it's been a good run.

01:49Yeah, absolutely.
