Durham outwit Derbyshire to claim first home T20 victory of season

00:00Durham picked up their first win at home in this season's T20 Blast, beating

00:05Derbyshire by 16 runs. Durham had posted a first-inning score of 168 for six but

00:12they managed to get Derbyshire all-out for 152. Ollie Robinson gave his

00:17thoughts post-match. Yeah that's nice obviously we've won the first one and

00:23close to the next two so actually to go to the line today was nice and then

00:27obviously we've got three games in the next two days so hopefully it starts a

00:33bit of a roll for us. I came in to see I think I was going to bat three anyway so

00:36it doesn't really bother me three or four yeah very happy. It's tricky to start

00:41actually with the mystery spinner yeah and Samet bowled well he bowled two and

00:46Samet bowled one so you don't really face only three overs a spin up top but yeah

00:51once the pace came on and actually went into main ends it was quite nice you see

00:54with reverse sweeps kind of kind of maneuver the field quite nicely for me

00:58and it allowed me to actually do what I wanted. So yeah pretty happy and Colin

01:02was brilliant to to bat with as well kind of talking me talking me through my

01:06innings and kind of ran a lot I was pretty cooked but yeah brilliant

01:11brilliant to get score. And with the first mini transfer window of the summer

01:15now closed it has become apparent that Newcastle United are prioritizing the

01:19second window of the summer which is a much longer time period spanning from

01:23next week until the start of September. Eddie Howe has talked about wanting his

01:28club to move quickly in the window but Newcastle are still in negotiations with

01:32clubs over several players.

01:35Speed is key for us and I've reiterated that many times internally speed is key

01:43because we have to be dynamic we have to be ready to conclude things very very

01:47quickly because good players don't hang around for long. That's always might been

01:51my thought and my message on recruitment really because you can have a period where

01:57you think you've got time but then you can look around very quickly and realize that

02:01times elapsed and you've missed opportunities that you won't get again so

02:06that's what we'll be trying but obviously the reality of that is it's not always in

02:10your hands but we'll be doing our best to do things early.
