00:00for Bristol Rovers it was a defeat their first defeat of pre-season it was only of course their
00:09second game in pre-season they had beaten Chippenham Town more recently but they played
00:14Stockport County and ultimately it was a 3-2 loss and actually on the surface not perhaps the best
00:21result because they had come back from two goals down showed a lot of character to get themselves
00:25into a good position had Bristol Rovers but then ultimately lost the game right towards the end
00:30obviously going two goals down disappointed Daryl Clark and he was a bit disappointed with that
00:35start to the game and how they unfortunately shipped two goals but then obviously getting
00:39themselves back into the game as well with two goals from Luke Thomas and Ollie Dewsbury that
00:44showed real character from Bristol Rovers and showed that Daryl Clark's philosophy is coming together
00:48and also that this squad has character within it despite all the additions that they've brought
00:53into the squad so far and even though there may be questions of the squad still gelling certainly
00:57they were able to fight for each other in this circumstance but obviously then to go on and
01:01still lose the game having fought so hard to get back into it is a bit of a disappointing end to the
01:06fixture for Bristol Rovers but Daryl Clark made very clear at the end that lots of positives can be
01:12taken from this fixture despite the loss and overall they'll go into the next set of fixtures in
01:17pre-season the next set of training camps with lots to work on lots of positives as well so
01:22certainly not all is lost from their point of view with further games to come before the
01:28league two season gets underway I think Daryl Clark certainly has been happy with the overall
01:31training camp they've had in the warm weather where they've been away but there's still work
01:37to be done for them lots to be done for Bristol Rovers another thing to consider for Bristol Rovers in
01:43this pre-season will be how many more signings they will need in the transfer window they've already
01:48brought in several new players during the summer so far and getting all of those to gel ahead of
01:54the new season will be a task in itself for Daryl Clark despite the fact that he has been pleased
01:59with the work and attitude that has been put in so far but whether they need more still remains to be
02:05seen as getting all of those players to gel as mentioned will be a task for Daryl Clark but he was
02:10happy with the game yeah listen I want to win every game disappointed to lose the game at the
02:15end after we come back from 2-0 down but like you said there's there's uh there's positives come from
02:20that and a lot of things we need to need to work on yeah you mentioned previously not to reflect on
02:26last season but there are moments where you go one two goals behind and there wasn't that reaction
02:29that you saw there today yeah listen we uh we have to react you have to you have to come back come
02:35from behind to to to get points and win games you know we were 2-0 down back to 2-2 but yeah we're
02:40disappointed with the goals i mean the first goal is a touch of class obviously Ollie Norwood's got that
02:44in the locker but we're disappointed with the goals we conceded today but uh it's you know the back end
02:49of a real real tough week is a there's a lot of positives to take out of it but also a lot of work to
02:54take out of it for first off we uh we didn't look after the transitions enough didn't take care of the
03:00first pass when we won it back and didn't get as much control as of the light uh but that you know
03:06we will take that as a staff because we're at the early stages of what we're trying to curate here
03:10and work on they had a bit more possession than i'd liked but there were a couple of occasions where
03:14we have won it won it on a high press first half when we just got to slip and slide make sure it's a
03:19better pass and we get a better opportunity and then second half we we get the press right and we're
03:23ruthless on the uh on the transition and we get our two goals yeah looking at the positives more minutes
03:29for camille and promise as well after an injury hit season last time how happy are you for them
03:33yeah listen it's about building them up building them up and trying to get as many players like you
03:38said those two missed a lot of football last season and building them up to make sure that we get as
03:43many players as we possibly can fit ready for the first game of season and then the goal added assist
03:48for ollie dewsbury as well that that must feel good brilliant brilliant the young lads uh you know he's a
03:53young talented boy we have to be patient with him but uh he's his enthusiasm his drive his work
03:58great you know when we you know i've got a great coaching team now he is we're gonna we're trying
04:03to get the best out of not just ollie but every single player and uh it's nice to see obviously
04:08one of our own you know scoring it all out out here now that rounds off the trip on the pitch what what
04:13the main positives you can take for the last few days if you're going to say to me you know not just
04:20not just this week but since i since we've come in the building there's a lot of new staff changes
04:24there's a lot of different ways of how we're structuring the work that the players are not
04:28used to or are going to get used to it i just say it's been a really positive day within that within
04:34within the course of that but you know i don't kid myself as well we've still got plenty to do and
04:38and we'll uh we'll keep progressing keep working with the group
04:48you
