00:00All right, let's talk about Chris Bubich. Let's turn our attention to some of the pitchers here
00:03because Bubich has been terrific and none of the deeper metrics are troubling at all. 96 strikeouts
00:08and 91 innings got 218 ERA, a 1.13 whip. It's the innings. Those are the numbers that are really
00:14concerning me with Bubich because if you look at 2024, the total innings for him between double A,
00:21triple A, rookie ball, it was only 35 innings there in 2024 with the major league club 30.
00:27So you're looking at 60 something innings the year before, just 16 coming off an injury. So
00:32to me, this is the only concern is we've hit that just about 100 pit, 100 inning mark, excuse me.
00:38And Bubich in the second half, if he starts to wear down, you could lose a lot of his trade stock and
00:44trade value. You've already gotten return, George. We talked about, well, you've already gotten
00:47everything you possibly asked for from Chris Bubich is now the time to get something else
00:51in the terms of getting maybe another player for him for the latter part of the season.
00:55Yeah, and I think you get the reasons why. You want to trade him before he starts to wilt
01:00a little bit during the summer here. He's had a fantastic season, better than we could have
01:04thought. But remember, the Kansas City Royals, it looks like it's not going to happen for
01:07them this season. They're not out of it. They're not. All right, they're only four and a half
01:11games back in the wild card here, but they got to go over like six teams here to get in there.
01:15We don't know what Cole or Reagan's right. They lost him here. So maybe that force of where
01:19they want to keep Bubich in the lineup, but you already brought up the innings pitch numbers.
01:22He's already 60 over last season. That's usually a red flag already, right? Teams don't like to go
01:27with 40. You know, and listen, I don't know what the Royals believe in. You know, maybe they don't
01:31care about that. But I do wonder, as the season goes on here, if they get seven games out, eight
01:37games out, if they go, no, no, we're not going to risk Bubich anymore. You know, we're going to make
01:41sure he's five and fly or we're going to shut him down. I do worry about that. So yes, absolutely.
01:45I think he's a guy you look to move here to a pitching needy team. Another guy with innings
01:51concerns for me is Clay Holmes. George 63 innings last year. Obviously, he's pitching out of the
01:55bullpen 63 the year before that his baseballs of on page has only one red thing in it. It's the
02:00ground ball percentage, which is in the top 90th percent. Everything else is 50% or below. That is
02:07not good as expected. ERA is at 412 is actual ERA is a 297. To me, same reasons, George for Bubich is
02:15why I'm looking around at Clay Holmes going, maybe it's time to get out from under him too.
02:19We see maybe we're down a little bit here. And then one more named Drew Rasmussen here,
02:23another player who's had a terrific season. But again, innings, George starting to wonder,
02:28are they starting to pile up 84 already this season for Drew Rasmussen, who has been terrific.
02:33Like it's really difficult to say that Rasmussen isn't a pitcher that you want in your rotation,
02:38but just 28 big leagues innings last year, again, working out of the bullpen mostly. I got to say,
02:45I'm also concerned about him. So Rasmussen or Holmes, who do you think brings you back more
02:49in a trade right now? Oh, I was playing in New York league where you and I are in the vicinity
02:55here, probably Holmes, right? You've got a Met fan that will give up more than they should for him
02:59here. No shock with Holmes, by the way. He's a reliever. Of course, they're going to be very
03:03careful with him. We're seeing it now. The Mets don't want him to go more than five innings here.
03:07Rasmussen is the better pitcher, you know, overall, you know, so I think he would be the
03:12guy, but they're both kind of similar here. What will Tampa do with Brad Muson? Are they
03:16going to be very cautious with him? Now let him go over an innings limit. It's going to
03:19be very fun to see here. Both guys should be on your, let's move this guy before he hurts
03:23me list.
