00:00We'll start with Eugenio Suarez of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
00:04A little scare earlier this week where he got hit by a pitch, but he's okay.
00:08Got 25 homers on the year, George.
00:1067 RBI, 254 batting average.
00:13This guy was awful for the first three months of 2024,
00:16and then became red hot, one of the best hitters in baseball,
00:20down the stretch, and it's carried over into 2025.
00:23It's been an incredible run here for Suarez,
00:25but realistically speaking, Corbin Burns out.
00:28Corbin Carroll is out right now.
00:32This is not a contending team, especially in that division
00:34where you've got the Dodgers and the Padres and the Giants.
00:38It's just too much to bear.
00:39The Diamondbacks would be smart to let Jordan Lawler play every day,
00:44see what he is, and then probably move on from Suarez.
00:47So I think the landing spot, I continue to say, for me, George,
00:52the landing spot is definitely the Milwaukee Brewers.
00:54He fits the need in the middle of that order,
00:56power bat, lineup protection, and third base,
00:59which has been a big cavern for them.
01:01What's your possible landing spot for Eugenio Suarez,
01:05and what does it mean for his fantasy value if he goes to, say, the Brewers?
01:10Well, I don't know if they're going to trade him.
01:12They're not out of it by any stretch of the imagination.
01:14Now, I agree with your sentiments, by the way,
01:16but, you know, your intro said, you know, hey, teams don't want to go for it.
01:21They want to make the playoffs.
01:22And then you said, you know what, they really don't have a chance to go anywhere.
01:25And both of those things are true for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
01:28They came into the season thinking they were going to compete, right?
01:30You made the – you signed Corbin Burns here.
01:32All right, you're going to have the good pitch here.
01:33Zach Cowell, oh, Cy Young, a couple years ago, we're going to be great.
01:37And neither one, right?
01:37Burns has hurt.
01:38Gallen's been terrible.
01:39So, you know, are they willing to give up?
01:42Move on when they're only three and a half games out.
01:45Now, a trade deadline is four weeks away, four plus weeks away.
01:47Maybe they're eight games up every time we're talking about this,
01:49and the decision's easier.
01:50But they're not trading Swarovs right now.
01:52They're not.
01:53You know, they're not going to do that because they're three and a half out.
01:56You can't sell that to your fan base to sell out when you're that close.
02:00Milwaukee makes sense here if they do.
02:01But the Yankees make sense.
02:03The Yankees desperately need a third baseman because,
02:05Josh Chisholm ain't it, boys and girls.
02:06He's a second baseman.
02:07I'm getting tired of him making it every, every game there.
02:10So the Yankees would make some sense there.
02:12And there are several other teams.
02:13The bottom line is this.
02:14If I'm Arizona, even if I still have three and a half games out in July,
02:19I am shopping Swarovs.
02:21I don't think he's a guy that, you know,
02:23if I'm getting a good price for him, Joe, I'm moving him.
02:26Wow, they're going to get me hit this for Swarovs here?
02:28I'm moving him either way here whether I'm in or out of it.
02:31So, yeah, I think we're going to hear his name.
02:32We're going to hear him mention because he's going to hit 40 home runs this year,
02:34whatever it might be.
02:35And he would have gone to Milwaukee, by the way.
02:37That's a better hit in his ballpark than Arizona.
02:40So I had to guess that I'd be in a nice place for him to end up.
02:44Well, Josh Naylor is a free agent at the end of this season,
02:46and he is a teammate here.
02:49And look, I think realistically, you look at the pitching staff and the Diamondbacks.
02:52Once Corbin Burns went down, it's done.
02:53Zach Gallen's awful.
02:55Brandon Fott's been terrible.
02:56Like, I mean, just understand that you're better off not trying to fool yourself
03:00to thinking you're a contender.
03:01But Josh Naylor, another guy who can help a lot of teams.
03:04Could, I don't know, being reunited with the Cleveland Guardians be the right move there
03:09for them to bring him back home?
03:12Maybe elsewhere when you look around.
03:14I mean, a lot of teams could use him as a first base or a DH.
03:16Maybe even the Mets could look at him as a DH just the rest of season because it's probably
03:21unlikely the Diamondbacks are going to resign him.
03:23They should probably get something for Josh Naylor.
03:25Where do you think he might end up?
03:26I don't think it would be either one of the two teams you mentioned.
03:29Neither one makes really any kind of, to give up that much.
03:32Cleveland's not going to give up a hole to get Josh Naylor back.
03:35I don't see that.
03:35They're not going to pay that price either.
03:37Mets, they need pitching, not hitting.
03:40All right, their hitting should be fine here.
03:41What are you going to, are you going to bench another one here at all?
03:43Good youngsters there.
03:45I mean, it's hard to find the right fit for him.
03:48All right?
03:48I mean, Tampa's generally, they're not an in-team.
03:51Toronto doesn't need it.
03:52Seattle does.
03:54But will they pay them?
03:54They say they will this year, right?
03:56The ownership said they will add salary at the deadline.
03:59So I think Seattle could make some sense.
04:00They need another bat there.
04:02You can make it hard for the Angels here.
04:04I mean, even Milwaukee, you know, I don't think there's a perfect fit for Nala.
04:08Wrong position for him here.
04:09But if I'm going to pick a team here, I'm going with the Mariners.
