Transcript
00:00Good afternoon and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04So the heat continues to build over the next couple of days, particularly across the south
00:08and the southeast of the country, all thanks to this area of high pressure.
00:11However, not everywhere is going to see those warm, really warm temperatures.
00:15That weather front across central areas continues through Saturday and into Sunday.
00:18Then another area of low pressure arrives across the northwest into the start of Monday.
00:22But it's across the south and the southeast where we see that high pressure building.
00:26We're going to continue to see those temperatures on the rise.
00:27However, this weather front arrives through Tuesday, bringing something a little bit
00:31fresher as we head towards the middle part of the week.
00:35Back to the rest of Saturday, though.
00:36And that weather front continues across northern parts of England, bringing focus for some clouds,
00:40some outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle, mainly over any high ground.
00:44Also parts of Wales, southwest England could see some mist and murk over the hills, too.
00:48But to the south of that weather front and to the north, there'll be plenty of sunshine
00:51on offer as we head through the afternoon, maybe one or two isolated blustery showers
00:55across the very far north of Scotland and perhaps still a little breezy across the west in places,
01:00but really feeling rather warm across the very far southeast.
01:03Perhaps even quite hot in places, particularly where those winds are a little bit lighter.
01:07We could see highs of 29, 30, perhaps even 31 degrees.
01:11And even across the southwest, parts of Northern Ireland, parts of Scotland could locally get
01:15into the low 20s as well.
01:17But always feeling just a little bit fresher across the very far northwest of Scotland.
01:22As we then go through Saturday evening, we continue to see some patchy rain across northern
01:26parts of England, this perhaps sinking a little southwards across parts of Wales, even into
01:30southwest England, too.
01:32So continuing to see some mist and murk over any high ground here.
01:35But across the southeast, parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, generally a dry night to come.
01:40Plenty of clear spells on offer, although continuing to see some showers across the very far north
01:43of Scotland.
01:44But despite those clear spells, it's going to be a really mild night to come.
01:48Temperatures across the south only dropping down into the high teens in places.
01:51Perhaps a little fresher further north, but still widely staying into the double figures.
01:55So that does mean really quite a mild start to the day on Sunday for most of us.
02:01Quite a cloudy start across parts of Wales.
02:04Again, continuing to see some patchy rain and drizzle across any high ground and similar
02:08for the southwest of England, too.
02:09But across the southeast, across much of northern parts of the UK, there'll be plenty of sunshine
02:13on offer.
02:15Maybe some patchy rain and drizzle across parts of Northern Ireland.
02:17Some longer spells of rain across northwest Scotland, too.
02:20But plenty of dry weather around, plenty of sunshine.
02:22But again, feeling really quite warm across the southeast.
02:2629, 30, perhaps 31 degrees again across the southeast and still 23 or 24 across the southwest
02:32and parts of Northern Ireland, too.
02:33And into the low 20s across parts of Scotland as we go through Sunday afternoon.
02:38That rain across parts of northern Scotland continues to push northwards as we go through Sunday
02:43evening.
02:44Any showers across parts of Northern Ireland, northern parts of England gradually easing
02:48overnight.
02:49So leaving a dry night for many of us.
02:50Plenty of clear spells on offer again, but a really quite mild night, perhaps even milder
02:54than Saturday night.
02:56And that sets us up for the peak of those temperatures as we go through Monday and Tuesday.
02:59But you can find out more about that by hitting subscribe to our YouTube channel so you never miss
