00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. After
00:04a wet day for some of us on Saturday, today's offering sank a little bit drier
00:07and brighter but still plenty of showers around and that really is going to be
00:12the theme as we go through the next few days. Pretty changeable as areas of low
00:15pressure move close by but then maybe a change as we head towards the middle part
00:20of the week and towards the end we will start to see this area of high pressure
00:23initially build in but then that will be quickly replaced by low pressure but
00:27more importantly dragging in some very warm air from the near continent. So
00:32turning quite warm and humid for most of us as we see out the week ahead and that
00:36could potentially give us the risk of some thunderstorms. We're firm up on the
00:40details of this as we get nearer the time. Back to the here and now for the rest of
00:45Sunday afternoon. As I mentioned a brighter day compared to Saturday but still
00:49plenty of showers around especially for more northern and central parts of the
00:53country. Some of these showers could be on the heavy side but in between there
00:57will be some brightness around. Best of the brightness probably along the far
01:01southern counties of England and it's here where we see the highest temperatures.
01:05Could see highs reaching around 19 or 20 degrees and I think for most of us
01:09feeling a little bit warmer than it has been over the last couple of days. Into
01:15the evening hours the showers gradually fade in away but a few will continue as the
01:19night goes on but for most of us we will see clearing skies so that will set us up
01:23for a fairly fresh night and that also allow some mist and fog to form as we
01:28start Monday morning. But for most of us temperatures in the towns and cities
01:32holding up into double figures but in the countryside could fall down to around
01:35five to six degrees in a few spots. But for most of us we will start the day on
01:41Monday with plenty of sunshine especially in the east once any mist and fog
01:45clears. But for Scotland and Northern Ireland cloud quickly building in ahead of
01:49this next band of rain that will gradually spread in to parts of Northern England
01:53and Northern parts of Wales as the day goes on. But I think for many southern
01:57areas, South Wales, Southern England, Midlands, East Anglia will hang on to the
02:01fairly dry conditions and it's here where we see the best of the brightest skies
02:05where further north rather grey and overcast. So that's reflected quite nicely in
02:11the temperatures at best mid-teens in the north but we could see highs reaching
02:15around 19 to 21 degrees in the south. But if you want more information about the
02:20weather where you are over the coming days you can always check out our app or
02:23our website. But from me for now take care and I'll see you again soon.
