Good morning and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It was a very
00:04
warm start to the weekend for many of us. Those temperatures are going to continue to
00:08
rise over the next couple of days but it will still be quite a cloudy start across parts
00:12
of Wales, perhaps south-west England too this morning. Some outbreaks of patchy rain and
00:16
drizzle across any high ground. We'll eventually see some showers feeding into parts of Northern
00:20
Ireland too and some longer spells of rain across north-west Scotland. But elsewhere,
00:24
generally a dry afternoon to come. Plenty of sunny spells and sunshine on offer as we
00:28
head through the afternoon. Perhaps some lighter winds across much of England and Wales through
00:32
Sunday afternoon compared to Saturday. But temperatures will still be really quite warm
00:36
across the south-east. 28, 29, 30, potentially even 31 degrees. And across the north and the
00:42
west feeling a little warmer than it did on Saturday too, with temperatures in the low
00:46
or mid-twenties. As we then go through Sunday evening, any showers that we see across parts
00:52
of Northern Ireland gradually easing overnight. Still staying a little cloudier across parts
00:56
of Scotland. Some patchy rain and drizzle over any high ground. Across much of England and Wales
01:00
though, that cloud thinning out and plenty of clear spells into the early hours of Monday morning.
01:05
We eventually see a weather front though arriving across parts of Northern Ireland. So turning a
01:09
little cloudier here. But despite any clear spells that we do see, it's going to be another very mild
01:13
night to come. Temperatures across the south holding up well into the high teens in places. And even
01:19
across the north, a milder night than we've seen recently. Around 16 or 17 degrees in places. So quite a muggy, quite humid,
01:26
start. So uncomfortable sleeping conditions. And quite a muggy start to the new working week.
01:32
So starting on Monday then, quite a cloudy start across parts of Northern Ireland, western parts
01:36
of Scotland. That weather front continues to push its way north and eastwards, bringing some perhaps
01:40
quite heavy rainfall as we head towards Monday afternoon. Across much of England and Wales though,
01:45
generally staying dry here. Plenty of sunshine and blue skies on offer. But with those light southerly
01:50
winds, that does mean temperatures are on the up. Peaking on Monday or Tuesday around 33,
01:55
34, potentially 35 degrees. But even outside of that southeast corner, we could see temperatures
02:01
into the high 20s across much of England and Wales. And even across Northern Ireland and Scotland,
02:06
once again reaching into the low, perhaps mid 20s. It will be feeling really quite warm and muggy
02:11
across much of the country. And especially if you're stuck underneath that cloud and rain further north.
02:16
As I mentioned, we could see similar temperatures as we go on to Tuesday, 34, potentially 35 degrees.
