Transcript
00:00good morning well today marks the start of meteorological summer but does the weather
00:06agree well we have an area of low pressure situated across the north and some frontal systems
00:12bringing showery outbreaks of rain we then have this ridge of higher pressure building in on
00:16monday before another area of low pressure moves in later and affects many places monday night
00:23and into tuesday bringing heavy spells of rain but also we've got that real squeeze in those
00:28isobars indicating some strong and gusty winds but back to this morning and it's a much brighter
00:34and fresher start out there for many of us best of the sunshine today will be across the southeast
00:39of england but across northern ireland and scotland a wet start here heavy spells of rain could be
00:45thundery that moves its way eastwards then it turns drier across parts of southern scotland and northern
00:52england into the afternoon elsewhere across much of wales the midlands the southwest sunny spells
00:59a few showers most frequent showers across northern ireland and across western scotland merging to give
01:06longer spells of rain it's going to be breezy for all of us but the strongest winds really confined
01:12towards the northwest of scotland so feeling rather cool here but in the sunshine highs of up to 20
01:19possibly 22 degrees but generally a drier and cooler air mass so not as humid as saturday so as we go
01:28through sunday evening and overnight we have that ridge of higher pressure developing so a lot of
01:33those showers will tend to ease through the night there'll be a few still around across northern ireland
01:38parts of scotland and northern england but for most of us it turns a lot drier by monday morning with
01:44clear spells and lighter winds so turning a little bit chilly across northern areas but otherwise lows
01:50of 8 to 11 degrees so through monday then a pleasant start to the day plenty of sunshine dry for most of
01:59us but showers will bubble up across northern parts of england and into east anglia then the sunshine
02:06turns increasingly hazy across northern ireland and scotland later with the breeze picking up in
02:12association with this area of low pressure out towards the north and west otherwise in the sunshine
02:19we'll see highs of up to 20 possibly 22 degrees but feeling cooler especially out towards the west
02:26where we have the strengthening breeze so as we go through tuesday then that's where we'll see
02:31some spells of rain so stay tuned to the forecast on that otherwise i'll see you very soon bye bye
