Hello, hope you've had a lovely weekend. We'll start to see a north-west and south-east split
00:05
developing in our weather as we head through Monday. But through the rest of this evening
00:10
and overnight, we hold on to the clearest skies for the longest across the south-east
00:14
of England, so temperatures quickly falling away here to give a touch of frost, perhaps
00:18
even some freezing fog patches. Out towards the west, we hold on to a lot of clouds still,
00:24
possibly thick enough for some patchy drizzle over western hills, but turning increasingly
00:28
windy across Northern Ireland and Scotland, and western areas of Scotland will start
00:34
to see outbreaks of rain through the early hours and to start Monday morning. So for
00:41
many, it is going to be largely mild to start Monday morning, but across the far south-east,
00:45
that's where we'll see the clearest skies, so a touch of frost to start the Monday morning
00:50
commute. So through Monday morning then, a bright start across the far south-east, but
00:56
the cloud will gradually filter in and give cloudier conditions. But across much of England
01:01
and Wales, it is a largely dry Monday, perhaps a few showers across the midlands and the
01:06
south-east later, but turning increasingly wet and windy across Northern Ireland and
01:12
western Scotland. We could see gusts up to 50 or 60 miles per hour, accompanied by some
01:17
heavy spells of rain. As for temperatures though, temperatures will climb here, we'll
01:22
see a mild picture, 10 or 11 degrees, but probably feeling unpleasant underneath that
01:27
rain and strong winds further towards the south, around 9 to 11 degrees. So through
01:35
Monday evening then, do take care, heavy spells of rain and strong winds through rush hour
01:39
across much of Scotland into Northern Ireland, and that will gradually sink its way further
01:44
southwards. So a damp start to come across northern parts of England on Tuesday and into
01:50
Wales. Ahead of that, a cloudier picture, so temperatures not as cold as Monday morning.
01:57
So for many, holding up at around 5 or even 8 or 9 degrees come Tuesday morning. But it's
02:04
going to be a windier picture out there for all of us. We have this band of rain just
02:08
slowly trying to sink its way south and eastwards. So a wet picture across much of north-western
02:14
England into Wales, and then later on into the south-west of England. Ahead of that,
02:20
across the south-east, largely dry, often cloudy and breezy here. But behind that, frequent
02:26
showers moving through, mixed with sunny spells, turning colder as well. So some of the showers
02:31
across Scotland could turn wintry through Tuesday afternoon. As for temperatures though,
02:37
generally staying quite mild. Temperatures ahead of this front could reach up to 10 or
02:41
11 degrees in the south and east. Now looking ahead then, we've got an area of higher pressure
02:48
building. So this cold front will sink its way southwards, then we'll start to see higher
02:53
pressure building by midweek. So a good deal of fine and settled weather to come, but it
02:59
will be turning colder. So overnight, we'll see the return of frosty mornings and even
03:04
some mist and fog patches too, as we head and continue in through the week. But for
03:10
more details on all of that, make sure to hit subscribe so you don't miss a forecast,
03:14
and I'll see you soon. Bye-bye.
