00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's been a very warm
00:05day for many of us on Saturday and that heat is going to continue to build as we head into
00:09the start of the new working week. It's all thanks to this area of high pressure building
00:12from the south of the UK, pushing its way north and eastwards as we go through the rest
00:16of the weekend and into the start of the new week. By the time we get to Monday, Tuesday,
00:20perhaps bringing in some slightly southerly winds, so picking up some slightly warmer air
00:23from the continent. However, low pressure never too far away out towards the west and
00:27northwest. And it's this weather front that pushes in and pushes eastwards as we go through
00:31Tuesday and into Wednesday. It's going to turn everything a little bit fresher by the middle
00:35of the week. Back to the rest of Saturday though. And the weather front that we've seen throughout
00:40much of Saturday across northwest England, northern parts of Wales, does continue as we head overnight
00:45and into the start of Sunday, bringing some outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle, mainly
00:48over high ground across parts of Wales, northwest England, maybe even southwest England too.
00:53But elsewhere, generally a dry night to come. Plenty of clear spells into the early hours
00:57of Sunday morning. Maybe one or two blustery showers just feeding into the very far north
01:01of Scotland. But despite those clear spells across the country, it's going to be a very
01:05mild night to come. Across the south, temperatures not dropping much below the high teens in places.
01:11And across the north, even though it's a little bit fresher, still temperatures staying in the
01:15double figures here. So that does mean a very mild start to the day on Sunday. Perhaps still
01:21quite a cloudy start across parts of Wales, maybe southwest England too, seeing some outbreaks
01:26of patchy rain and drizzle over any high ground. Maybe one or two isolated showers just feeding
01:30into parts of Northern Ireland. Some longer spells of rain arriving across the northwest
01:34of Scotland too. But generally elsewhere, plenty of blue skies, plenty of sunshine on offer
01:39as we head through the afternoon. But once again, it's going to be feeling really quite warm
01:43across the southeast. Highs at here around 29, 30, potentially 31 degrees. And even across
01:49parts of Northern Ireland, southwest England, Wales, temperatures reaching into the mid-20s.
01:54But again, just that little bit fresher across the very far north of Scotland where it's still
01:58going to be a little breezy through the afternoon.
02:02That rain across parts of Scotland continues to push northwards as we head through Sunday
02:06evening. Any showers across parts of Northern Ireland, any patchy rain across the rest of
02:10the country gradually easing overnight. So generally turning dry for most of us as we head into
02:15the early hours of Monday morning. Maybe some clouds, some patchy light rain and drizzle
02:19across the high ground of Scotland. Perhaps some rain arriving across the very far west
02:23of Northern Ireland too. But for most of us, plenty of dry and clear spells around. And
02:27again, despite those clear spells, it is going to be another very mild night to come. Again
02:32in the south, temperatures not dropping below those high teens of Celsius. And even in the
02:36north, we could stay quite mild here, 16, 17 degrees and probably feeling really quite
02:41muggy across the country as we start Monday morning.
02:45So into the start of Monday, obviously a very mild start to the day. Perhaps quite a damp start
02:50across parts of Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. We can continue to see some rain pushing
02:54in from the southwest. This perhaps turning heavy at times as we go towards the afternoon.
02:59But for much of England and Wales, generally a dry afternoon to come. Plenty of sunshine
03:03on offer. And with some lighter winds and some southerly winds, that is going to mean those
03:07temperatures are a little bit higher on Monday. Temperatures likely to peak on Monday or Tuesday
03:12around 33, 34, potentially 35 degrees quite widely across much of England and Wales, those
03:18temperatures into the high 20s or even low 30s. And even across Northern Ireland and much
03:23of Scotland, those temperatures into the low 20s too. So feeling really quite warm and muggy
03:27across the country and particularly in the north, if you are stuck underneath that cloud
03:30and rain, it's going to feel quite unpleasant. But it's the southeast that hold on to those
03:34highest temperatures. And we're going to see similar temperatures as well on Tuesday,
03:3834 or 35 degrees are possible. But that weather front then arrives from the west as we go into
03:43Wednesday, so turning much fresher then. But you can find out more about that by hitting
