00:00Good afternoon. Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. There's been some
00:04heavy, thundery rain on the cards for many of us this morning. It's pushed its way northwards
00:09across the very far southeast of England. Some quite heavy downpours and some quite
00:13a bit of lightning mixed in here too across the southeast. Further showers as well across
00:18western parts of northern England, even into eastern parts of Scotland too. And it's all
00:22thanks to low pressure, very much in charge of our weather over the next couple of days.
00:26This weather front continues to push northwards. It's that one that's brought us that rain
00:30this morning. However, this low pressure system remains very close by down towards the southwest.
00:34Various weather fronts swirling around it, bringing plenty of showers through the rest
00:38of the weekend and even into the start of next week too. So looking at the rest of Saturday,
00:44that area of rain that we've seen across the southeast continues to push its way northwards
00:47into northern parts of England, even into eastern parts of Scotland too. Plenty of heavy downpours
00:53again. Some hail and thunder is possible mixed in there. And there's going to be further showers
00:57across parts of northern Ireland, potentially some thunderstorms. Even across parts of Wales
01:01and southern England, we could see some thunderstorms bubbling up through the afternoon. But across
01:05parts of northern Ireland, Wales, southern parts of England, there will be some sunshine
01:09developing between those showers. And feeling pleasant in that sunshine, perhaps not quite as warm
01:13as Friday. Highs in the south of 24, 25, potentially 26 degrees. They're feeling a little bit cooler
01:20and fresher underneath that cloud and rain. As we then go through the rest of Saturday evening,
01:26that rain continues to push northwards into parts of Scotland. Again, some heavy downpours
01:30are possible here. But it's all eyes down towards the southwest. So that area of low pressure
01:34brings a weather front pushing its way north and eastwards across parts of southwest England,
01:38parts of Wales. Again, we could see some hail and thunder mixed in here. Some heavy downpours
01:42are likely into the early hours of the morning and almost anywhere seeing a shower in places. And quite
01:47a cloudy and mild start to the day on Sunday too. Perhaps not quite as mild as we saw on
01:51Friday night, though temperatures still holding up into the high teens for many of us. So still
01:57perhaps a little uncomfortable for sleeping. So that does mean quite a cloudy and perhaps
02:02quite a damp start for many of us on Sunday morning. Various bands of showers continue to
02:06swirl around the area of low pressure down towards the southwest, as well as some outbreaks of rain
02:11continuing across northern and eastern parts of Scotland. Perhaps Northern Ireland getting away
02:15with a little drier conditions, at least through the first part of the day, but almost anywhere
02:19seeing a shower as we head through Sunday afternoon. There will still be some sunshine
02:23between those showers though, perhaps a bit of brightness, turning a little breezier across
02:27the very far southwest, so maybe feeling just a little bit fresher here. Though temperatures
02:31still getting up into the mid-twenties for many places, 24, 25, potentially 26 degrees again
02:36and perhaps feeling a little bit warmer across the very far north compared to Saturday. It's looking
02:43like a similar picture through Sunday evening and even into the start of Monday too. Plenty of showers
02:47continuing to swirl around the area of low pressure, so almost anywhere seeing a shower overnight
02:52Sunday and into the start of Monday. Potentially another swathe of larger, heavier showers pushing
02:57up from the south into the early hours of Monday morning too. And that sets us up as we go into parts of next week.
03:03Plenty more heavy, thundery showers on the cards for many of us, but temperatures will still be around average,
03:07so it will still feel pleasant where you do catch that sunshine. But do make sure you hit subscribe to our YouTube channel
