00:00It often earned its first victory in the Kentucky Oaks in 2023 with Pretty Mischievous.
00:07And this year they hope to do it again with the likely Oaks favorite, Good Cheer.
00:11Here Michael Banahan introduces us to a few members of the undefeated Phillies family
00:15and talks about what it would mean to get a second Kentucky Oaks victory.
00:20When we acquired Stoner's side back in 08 maybe,
00:24and Golden Sheba, the grand of Good Cheer, came at the farm
00:30and she produced a lovely filly for us being Wedding Toast
00:34who ended up in several grade ones for us.
00:38She's been a little bit of a lucky mare for us reproductively wise.
00:44She's missed several years and she's only had two back-to-back years
00:48where she's had two falls in a row.
00:50But fortunately one of those is Good Cheer.
00:52So as long as if Amer can produce one good one, we're very happy.
00:58Wedding Toast is a full sister yearling to Good Cheer.
01:02And she's a nice filly.
01:04She's a different type to Good Cheer herself.
01:07She's a little shorter, a bit more compact and is a pretty nice yearling.
01:14With Good Cheer having such a great season last year
01:17and we decided to give one more chance with Medaglia again,
01:22seeing it worked so well for her and so she's currently carrying a cover to him at the moment
01:28and our fingers crossed that maybe she'll take this time
01:32and try and get a duplicate Good Cheer if we can.
01:36She was a lovely filly as a foal and she continued to develop and true as a yearling
01:43and she was always very nice.
01:45She did have a significant foot issue as a yearling that scared us at times
01:50but she came through all that and ever since she got over that she has never looked back at all.
01:57You sort of felt that she might be a later development type of filly actually
02:01and that we wouldn't really see the best of her until a three-year-old.
02:05But then when she went to Brad and she was doing well and passing all his tests early on
02:11and I was surprised that we were getting her to track as early as we did.
02:15Every time she went to the rest track she improved and got better and better
02:19and probably surprised us how well she did.
02:22Her best attribute is her professionalism and her class.
02:29So since she's got into training she does exactly what Brad and his team want her to do.
02:36She goes to the track, does her work, comes back.
02:41I don't doubt that she will show up because every time she's gone to the races she's done that.
02:46She's training super, she looks awesome.
02:49You wouldn't trade her for anyone else.
02:52I think she'll go in there with a very strong favourites of chance.
02:57Going in with an undefeated record is always difficult.
03:02But I think she gives everyone a lot of confidence going in there
03:05and we certainly lack her chances anyway.
03:08I think she'll be doing well.
03:11I think she'll be doing well.
03:12I think she'll be doing well.
03:14I think she'll be doing well.
03:15I think she'll be doing well.
03:16I think she'll be doing well.
03:16I think she'll be doing well.
03:17I think she'll be doing well.
03:18I think she'll be doing well.
03:19I think she'll be doing well.
03:20I think she'll be doing well.
