Don Alberto Corp. has stamped its presence in the U.S. since the Solari family purchased a farm in Kentucky over 10 years ago, breeding the likes of Grade I winner Muth and Arcangelo. This year, they are chasing a dream as not only the breeders, but also the co-owners, of Kentucky Derby contender Journalism.

00:00This was the dream of Miss Liliana Solari and her son Carlos Heller and they wanted to bring
00:19their operation to America from Chile so about 12-13 years ago they bought the farm started
00:25buying mares buying foundation mares and it's stacking a lot of bricks but it's
00:31paid off with some nice runners for us it's tremendous you know we came from a
00:38little country Chile is in the end of the world a little country but the love for
00:46the horses Kentucky is the best place to bring the horses in the world we know
00:51Kentucky when we came to see stallions and we saw this farm and I said wow it's my
00:59dream how it happened we have this farm she came here to stay to see a farm for
01:07the cows okay she was passing by here and so insane I didn't know nothing so he
01:16brought me here he said let's just go to to Kentucky together okay I said I
01:22thought he wants to see the farm for cows but then I was I came in all our
01:30friends came out I said this farm is here he told me our first classic winner was
01:37Archangelo out of one of our foundation mares modeling so that was just huge for
01:43the farm and then obviously Mooth was kind of the next big one out of a young
01:47uncle Moe mare first hole so he was a multiple grade one winner we take care of
01:52him the best we can and I think it's starting to pay off in the results
01:57first prepare good horses good crosses with mares put the best stallion in
02:04Kentucky and then have a good prices in the sale but race these horses race and I
02:11talked with the people here I said we doing well in the sales but now we need
02:16to demonstrate it in the races and this year journalism Scorpio Caldera
02:24sense a parole just at us I remember my petition run with a unique Bella and when
02:33when when when when we see she in the in facing in the in the sales maybe I like
02:38this mare and the dream the mare is here first fall journalism for us it's a dream
02:46stay here wait the Kentucky Derby is a dream dream dream dream dream we're never but
02:55we're hopeful these people here they just love on horses they just love on them all
03:02day and so I think we're raising good horses that are emotionally able to go
03:09on the racetracks and do their job and so I think the success really has just
03:14come from the passion of the horses and that starts with Miss Aline Carlos
03:18I'm very happy with my family and especially my mother she's here and I
03:22she have 85 85 yes and she want to win a Kentucky Derby I have a bad leg but I think if we win I jump
