00:00How are you going to put your double together?
00:02Which horses did you want to use coming out of the Black Eyed Susan?
00:05Yeah, so I am singling journalism in the second leg.
00:09So because of that, I couldn't use, because I mentioned in the segment, you know, the first segment,
00:14I think this is a tough race in the Black Eyed Susan.
00:16And if I liked a horse at a little bit longer odds in the Preakness,
00:19I probably would have used five horses in here and singled into a five-to-one.
00:22Just to make sure you get to that horse, right?
00:24You want to make sure that if your horse wins that you really like,
00:27you capitalize on it and you take advantage.
00:30But it's not the case.
00:31I think the favorite is probably going to win the Preakness.
00:33So for that reason, I did go with three horses in here.
00:36I'm using Marge's Intention.
00:37We talked about this horse a lot.
00:39It was both Gina and my first selection in the race.
00:41It's the one who's that first out with trainer Brad Cox, who wins 41% of the time.
00:46And just this race is just setting up really nicely for her.
00:50I also use the six Paris Lily and the seven Reply, which are both eight-to-ones or plus 800 horses.
00:57So that gives a little potential value add to the ticket.
01:02The cost of these tickets are you multiply the number of horses.
01:06So three horses over one horse, three times one, is a $3 ticket.
01:10So I think even if Marge's Intention is the lowest odds horse wins and journalism wins,
01:14I'd at least break even.
01:15We won't lose any money.
01:17And then if I get one of the longer ones in, the six or the seven,
01:19then we can, you know, maybe double or triple our money if we're lucky.
01:24So Alexa's ticket.
01:25With these daily doubles, they're not very much.
01:27It was just a $3-based wager.
01:30You can play it 10 times.
01:30You can play it for $30.
01:32That's what you do with the smaller wagers, right?
01:34If you have wagers like that, whatever your bankroll is,
01:36if you're looking for like $20, something you want to play it around that,
01:39then, you know, you play it as many times as that would equal up to $20.
01:42So for Alexa, it's the three Margie's Intention, the six Kinsey Queen,
01:46and the seven, or the six Paris Lily, and the seven Reply.
01:51And those two, the six and the seven, both are very fair prices.
01:54So either one of them winning could give Alexa a nice little return on her investment.
01:58We can move to the double that I've put together for you, just $2.
02:02And because I like Margie's Intention, like if it were to come Margie's Intention journalism,
02:08probably wouldn't pay all that much.
02:09So I didn't want to spend a bunch and use a couple extra horses and double my ticket up
02:14in the Black Eyed Susan, because I wanted to make sure I had one other horse in the Preakness,
02:18just in case.
02:19Completely respect journalism.
02:21I think if he shows up with his best effort,
02:23it is going to be a situation where everyone else is running for second.
02:27But I try to compare it to what goes on in like sports.
02:32I know a lot of people watching this show, I've been watching the NBA playoffs, right?
02:35We see load management in sports nowadays, where players don't play as much back-to-back
02:42games, pitchers in baseball.
02:43They don't pitch as often.
02:45They get more days in between their starts and their outings.
02:47And that's happened a little bit in horse racing.
02:50We just don't see horses run back as quickly.
02:53That's why Sovereignty is not running in the Preakness, because his trainer and their
02:57connections don't think him coming back in two weeks would be good for him.
03:00So I think if journalism loses the race, I think that's the reason why he loses.
03:05I think it's because two weeks turnaround, he may not have that same energy level that
03:12he has always had.
03:14And if he gets beat because of that, I wanted to use a new face, because that's my whole
03:18reasoning.
03:19Like, I'm not going to use the horses who ran a couple weeks ago if I think journalism
03:22is going to lose.
03:23I would use River Thames, who's kind of that fresh face, who decided to skip the derby and
03:29point to the Preakness, Alexa.
03:30So I put my double together with Margie's intention, and then I threw in River Thames
03:34along with journalism.
03:36I like River Thames a lot.
03:36And if you go back and you look at historically horse racing, horses did used to run a lot
03:41more frequently than they do now.
03:43And I think just as racing becomes more and more competitive, your horse just has to be
03:47in such a prime condition in order to win at these high levels.
03:50And so that's why you see horses, you don't see as many coming back on such short rest.
