Peep Show: Metal Detecting Slumber Party

James saw Chuck's car over the weekend and it turns out Chuck was at a big metal detecting event in the area. Then, he reveals that he is going on a mystery metal detecting hunt that Andy compares to a slumber party.

00:00i think it was yesterday james was like dude i i saw you way on the other side of town i think it

00:14was you was it your you know do you think other people yeah yeah i was like jeeps like set up

00:20like mine and you know my jeep it has like uh unique it's unique in the way that it has like

00:26red rims and i have like a large tire jack uh completely for show across the hood of my in

00:36the front yeah so i looked at the town and i realized that the town is right beside where

00:41i had my gigantic michigan treasure hunters can am uh can am dig which is funny too that you forgot

00:52because you're like no i wasn't i wasn't out of time no i was like i wasn't around anywhere i

00:56wasn't like a big event and i was like oh i'm like yeah no can and treasure hunt yeah how could i

01:02forget of course of course so uh once a year you know they always have like little things that go

01:09on but like once of once a year we go out to like a park and there's people from canada that come

01:16across the border and you know so there was like um i don't know probably a hundred people i took

01:22i took a photo kind of of of the uh area and in the photo it's you can see there's like a lot of

01:30people there but when you zoom in on everyone yeah everybody is old every like every guy can barely

01:38oh my gosh chook's like the young stuff everybody like oh god come here this guy here is so you're

01:47taking like a selfie he's almost gone like look at that that guy's almost gone that's funny too

01:51they're all old i have that hat though they're all crumudgety they all look crumudgety

01:55it's it's i found my people right so you took a selfie with the people i just yeah i took a

02:01selfie you're like look it yeah killer we're awesome you know so i i did this thing and then

02:09the other thing i ended up luckily finding some stuff and like winning the first place prize and

02:17the second place prize for like the well no wonder you're competing against the senior

02:21yeah they were oh you took that photo and after you got the find and they were that's why the

02:35reaction they all that's well so this is mad this is the thing right so it comes in to steal our gold

02:41yeah at the front so the way it works and it's funny because it's been described as playing in like

02:47uh you know like a litter box or whatever we go they put stuff in the ground so that you go then

02:53find it it's not like metal detecting oh it's like a kid egg hunt yes yes that's what i called it

02:59yes it's like a kid did you get any chocolates did you find any chocolates chuck i mean the more i

03:06analyze it the more upset i get with those foil wrap chocolates for your metal detector to pick up chuck

03:11and i don't want to i don't want to give everything away but there was definitely some times where

03:17people clearly dropped oh it's like whatever stuff that they found yeah they're like someone else's

03:24find oh look i found it all right i'll put it in my pocket

03:28and then so you came behind them and picked it up so like my detector just goes off and i'm and it's

03:40right there down i'm like okay this is like three this is like three coins just sitting on the top of

03:45the grass now were your professional friends there the ones that are yeah my professional

03:49friends my my other professional friend he won the top prize in the first dig and in the second

03:55dig and then the last dig i won the first and second they're gonna kick you guys out i know it's

04:00pretty bad it's pretty bad they're gonna join forces they have they're because one of the guys

04:04like hey look at you and there's like a nickname they have for us and it's like the what is it

04:10lucky f words uh you know they hate them man they call you the lucky f's

04:18you guys go and your egos are just like yeah so they're making all the old ladies

04:24swoon yeah exactly oh my god look at him those pants those pants couldn't be tighter i hear he

04:32can detect a coin four inches under the ground the thing is there's another thing that's coming up

04:37towards the end of the month where uh this will be the first time i go but it is a

04:43you pay oh god oh no let us have it so you you pay money and then you're gonna end up going on a trip

04:52where you're basically going to be staying in a place that's almost like a dorm room setting or

04:59like you're doing this i am doing this i don't think you should

05:04it's too late i've already paid so but this is the thing so how it happens is it's from friday

05:13until sunday okay so you go and you're but the thing is no one knows where it is no one i don't

05:20know where it is you don't know where it is you paid and you book something you don't even know

05:25listen you pay and then the way it is is these people they find a place that's never been detected

05:31before super old is near one of these locations like an old dorm room or old campground or something

05:39like that where you can stay and they provide all the meals and do all that but you get to detect for

05:46a friday saturday and then sunday and leave and but yeah i'll be out there that's horrible well it

05:54doesn't it's not chuck knows how to party that's gonna be young chuck's big party weekend yeah

05:59i don't know it's uncomfortable i am are you staying with your friends yes like my friends

06:05my friends are gonna be there but the thing is i don't know if it's uh maybe we'll have to share

06:10can't you get a hotel room oh it's out i don't know where it is like i can't i mean i guess i probably

06:17could i i feel like they would be upset if i didn't do it the way that it is like intended

06:27metal detecting world is so mysterious and full of surprises it is i know i just uh you know i just

06:33wish i could find the big the big thing i didn't know they had like overnight slumber party time

06:38what's the friday night movie you watching chuck is it called something i know there's got to be

06:47something from years past oh it's listen he knows he doesn't want to tell me no i don't know more

06:54time i would have investigated no the only thing that i know he knows you're gonna find the location

06:59in 12 seconds oh no if you could find the location early i can't if they don't know they

07:05have they booked it yet um no see well i believe that everything is set up and that there is probably

07:11one older lady that knows everything um but the secret the secret is you wake up on friday and at

07:20like 11 at 11 all we know is it can be within like a three hour radius of driving so then we all have

07:28to get it this is so unlike you i know i don't even know how to explain this this is like what

07:34i so at some point me and my nerd buddies are gonna pile into a car with all of our metal detecting

07:40stuff and we're gonna be told where it is and then we will venture for three days we can't even get

07:48you to the bard for a drink yeah no no no i won't do that this whole setup reminds me of like when the

07:54like a big millionaire is looking for some adrenaline and he yeah hires the company to

07:59come kidnap him oh yeah he doesn't know when you know it's kind of like that it's kind of like that

08:05they get a phone call at 11 a.m friday morning we don't know where we're going but we know it's

08:09three hours away it's gonna be like the scene in old school where they ride around and round up all

08:13the pledges for the frat exactly like i don't but like i you know i know you're trying to you'd love

08:20to look it up and see what this is like um i don't have any photos of it because i've never

08:26i've never gone to it the only way i'd be able to find it is to try and look it up through my friends
