Hello there, good morning. Welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office. Well,
00:05
low pressure brought some outbreaks of rain across parts of the country through Saturday.
00:09
Sunday, high pressure starts to build in, it settles the weather down. We see lots of
00:13
dry weather, plenty of sunshine and then into next week, high pressure continues to stay
00:18
established across the UK. Some chillier air across the near continent could affect some
00:23
southern and eastern coastal stretches at times. Otherwise, temperatures will start
00:28
to rise further, perhaps into the low 20s across central and western parts and north-western
00:33
parts as we get towards the middle of next week, something to keep an eye on. Weather
00:38
front across the far south-east of England this morning quickly pulls away, some light
00:42
rain and drizzle at first, then plenty of sunny spells to come through Sunday, sunshine
00:46
becoming more extensive as we move into the afternoon. But it does remain rather blustery,
00:51
particularly across northern parts of the UK, parts of the Pennines up into northern
00:56
parts of Scotland. We could see gusts of 40mph or so at times along the east coast,
01:00
quite a brisk northerly breeze. Spring high tides at the moment, we could see some large
01:04
waves along the coast. Add on that strength of that northerly breeze, it will feel quite
01:09
chilly here, temperatures reaching around 13-14C. But in the sunshine and lighter winds
01:14
further south and west, 15-16-17C possible, so feeling pleasant out there in the spring
01:21
sunshine. As we head through into the evening time, some
01:24
thicker clouds start to move in across parts of Northern Ireland, the Western Isles into
01:28
the Highlands as well. A few splashes of rain and drizzle possible at times, and overnight
01:33
much of England and Wales generally staying dry with lengthy clear skies, and those winds
01:37
start to ease as well. So a touch of frost is possible in the countryside, towns and
01:41
cities generally falling to 2 or 3C in places, and some low cloud starting to develop through
01:47
the Irish Sea which could lap against some western coasts of England and Wales at times.
01:52
So cloudier starts across Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland, some splashes
01:56
of rain here and elsewhere. Plenty of sunshine, early fog quickly clearing, and then plenty
02:00
of sunshine across England and Wales through the day. Ahead with light winds, showers across
02:06
Northern Ireland, a few showers for parts of Scotland as well, but many places dry.
02:10
They're fairly cloudy skies at times, and in the best of the sunshine again, temperatures
02:15
well above average, 16-17-18C possible. Even under the cloud further north, temperatures
02:20
around 15-16C, so a fairly warm afternoon to come for many. And high pressure continues
02:28
to be the main feature of our weather through Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, plenty of sunshine,
02:34
perhaps some chilly nights, but lots of dry weather to come. The wind starts to pick up,
02:38
but across central and north-western parts of the UK, temperatures well above average,
02:43
getting close to 20-21C, just a little chillier along some southern coasts of England at times,
02:49
and perhaps the east coast too, that breeze developing. If you'd like more information
02:53
on the weather, where you are for the next few days, you can follow us on our social
02:57
media channels. See you again soon.
