00:00Good afternoon. Welcome to your latest Met Office forecast. High pressure has really dominated our weather through the past week, but it is all change over the next 24 hours or so.
00:11Low pressure moving in from the Atlantic, bringing in bands of showery rain, which could be heavy at times, some longer spells of rain possible too, but also fresher air, particularly across northern and western parts, but more widely as we get to Tuesday.
00:24So turning gradually a little more unsettled. Looking at the maximum temperatures across the UK, up to around 31 or 32 Celsius this afternoon, but then gradually falling away, everyone near average by Tuesday.
00:37But there are signs as we head towards the end of the week, temperatures just creeping up a little bit, not as high compared to recent days.
00:44Lots of sunshine this afternoon across the UK. They're turning hazy across parts of Northern Ireland, Wales, the west country, as weather systems start to approach.
00:51A little more cloud across parts of central and eastern England into southern Scotland too.
00:56This could produce one or two showers later on today, but the vast majority of us will have another sunny day.
01:03And in that sunshine, temperatures climb not as high compared to Saturday, but still widely the mid to high 20s, locally 31 Celsius towards southeastern parts of Wales there.
01:13And the West Midlands, always cooler along some eastern coast where we can see the breeze coming off the North Sea here.
01:19So coastal stretches generally a little cooler if you do want a little relief from that heat.
01:25Into this evening, times on low clouds still across eastern parts of England, thick enough for a little drizzle at times.
01:30But it is the focus of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic.
01:33We start to see bands of rain pushing north and eastwards as we head into the early hours.
01:38One or two rumbles of thunder possible as the showers turn heavy.
01:41But in between, some clear skies and still a very warm and muggy night to come.
01:46Temperatures largely in the mid to high teens, so fairly uncomfortable.
01:50Our houses are still warm, so it might be a little uncomfortable for sleeping.
01:54And it's a different picture Monday morning.
01:56Yes, there'll be some sunshine, but also bands of showers pushing north and eastwards.
02:00Some of these heavy and thundery could lead to some disruption first thing.
02:04And as we move through the day, you can see the bands of rain pushing north and eastwards.
02:08Some bright colours indicating some hefty downpours.
02:10Some rumbles of thunder possible too.
02:12So if you are travelling, there could be some tricky conditions at times.
02:17But plenty of sunny spells too.
02:19Some of us will stay dry all day and miss the showers.
02:22The breeze picking up in the west.
02:23So fresh air moving in across parts of Scotland, northern England, northern Ireland, Wales and the west country.
02:29Temperatures more like the high teens to low 20s.
02:31Central and eastern parts of England, still the high 20s locally, possibly 30 degrees across East Anglia Monday afternoon.
02:39So still some heat holding on for one more day.
02:42But it is all about to leave us as we head through into Tuesday.
02:46So through the evening time, further showers moving in on Monday into the evening time and overnight.
02:51Some longer spells of rain possible too.
02:54And then everyone fresher into Tuesday with some longer spells of rain.
