00:00Welcome to your afternoon weather update. This Monday the weather patterns have shifted.
00:05Still some warmth across East Anglia, but otherwise it has turned cooler and fresher and a little bit wetter.
00:11A big lump of cloud out in the Atlantic, but this one is what's dominating our weather for the next day or so.
00:17An area of low pressure and it's been switching the winds coming in from the west.
00:21Now I suppose squeezing together as well, going to get pretty windy, especially around the coast of Wales through the night and tomorrow.
00:27Bands of heavy rain moving northwards, some welcome rain in places, but some pretty hefty downpours possible this afternoon.
00:35South East Scotland, North East England, some showers further south.
00:38There'll be much more hit and miss here, however, so some places won't see much rain.
00:43It'll be quite a bit of sunshine following on from that band across parts of South West Scotland, Wales, the Midlands, South West England.
00:49Only the odd shower here and there, as I say, quite a bit of sunshine, but it won't be as warm as it has been.
00:55We've still got the warmth still across East Anglia, 28, maybe 29 degrees Celsius, but most places are already considerably cooler than they were yesterday.
01:05And that breeze making it feel even fresher on some of these western coasts.
01:08It will strengthen that wind around the coast of Wales, South West England through the night.
01:12The rain heads its way northwards, getting into northern parts of the mainland of Scotland through the night.
01:17And then lots of showers follow on for Wales, North West England.
01:20And it turns really quite wet across northern Ireland, as you can see there.
01:24That's the area of low pressure, just gradually getting closer.
01:27And the strongest winds around these parts, West Wales, South West England, could be very gusty here tomorrow for the time of year.
01:34It will be a fresher night, a more comfortable night.
01:36The cooler air has arrived.
01:38Still takes a while, of course, for your house to cool down.
01:40So you may not notice it that much tonight.
01:42But generally, it will be more comfortable and less humid.
01:46Into Tuesday, a wet start for Northern Ireland.
01:50And a pretty wet day for North Wales, North West England, South West Scotland.
01:54This zone in particular staying very soggy.
01:56Some heavy showers drifting to South Wales.
01:58Some of that rain eventually getting over the Pennines and further north too into central parts of Scotland.
02:04Northern Ireland may turn a bit brighter, but still some lively showers coming in here.
02:08It'll take most of the day before we see that rain getting into the far south east.
02:11And we may not see much at all along the south coast.
02:14So generally staying dry here, but breezy and fresher.
02:18And where we are seeing that rain, as I said, for some, it'll be pretty heavy.
02:21Northern Scotland stays fine and sunny.
02:23Light winds here, quite a pleasant day, really, 20 degrees Celsius.
02:26Elsewhere, though, as I say, welcome rain, yes, but a very different feel.
02:3018, 19 at best.
02:32And those winds will be pretty gusty on the west coast of Wales, the coast of southwest England and northwest England too.
02:38It'll say unseasonably windy for this time in summer.
02:42And the wet and showery weather will continue around the area of low pressure during Tuesday evening.
02:47So still some pretty heavy downpours.
02:49If you're on the roads, one minute it's wet.
02:51The next minute you're in the middle of a heavy shower to come and go.
02:55Temperatures will rise a little bit in some areas towards the end of this week.
02:59But for more on that, you'll want to be watching the week ahead video.
