Good morning to all of us. This is the latest weather update for Thursday, December 26, 2024.
00:08
Currently, the effect of the cold or northeast monsoon is slightly weakening
00:13
and because of that, the rainfall of the shear line has also decreased.
00:18
The shear line is not affecting any part of our country,
00:21
but if we can see here in our latest satellite animation,
00:25
there are clouds that are affecting the southeast part of our country.
00:31
That is the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
00:34
As a result of this ITCZ, we will experience rainy weather in a large part of Mindanao,
00:40
as well as in Palawan.
00:42
Meanwhile, although the shear line is not affecting any part of our country,
00:46
the light to moderate rainfall will continue
00:50
in the northeast monsoon zone or Hanging Amihan in the eastern sections of the Northern Luzon.
00:56
In a large part of our country, only isolated thunderstorms are possible.
01:01
These are the occasional or sudden rains that we usually experience in the afternoon or at night.
01:08
Currently, we are not monitoring any low-pressure area or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility
01:15
and we do not expect any LPA or typhoons to affect any part of our country in the coming days.
01:22
But starting tomorrow, the effect of Hanging Amihan will gradually increase
01:27
and as a result, the effect of the shear line will gradually be felt,
01:32
especially in the northern part of the Luzon until the upcoming weekend.
01:37
And for areas of Mindanao, as well as here in Palawan,
01:41
as well as in some parts of Visayas, it is possible for a rainy season to occur.
01:46
This is the Intertropical Convergence Zone until the upcoming weekend.
01:52
We already know that the weather will be bad here in the Luzon.
01:56
After the continuous shear line of Hanging Amihan,
01:59
we still expect cloudy skies and light to moderate rains in the Cagayan Valley
02:05
as well as in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
02:08
Meanwhile, here in Ilocos Region, it is possible for fair weather or generally fair weather conditions
02:12
except for the occasional weak rains or storms.
02:18
In the cold part of the Luzon, in the Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabar Zone,
02:23
in the Mimaropa and Bicol Region, we expect improved weather conditions
02:28
except for occasional showers of rain followed by localized thunderstorms.
02:35
We will monitor the thunderstorm advisory issued by our regional services division.
02:41
For the temperature forecast, in the surrounding cities,
02:44
here in the Luzon, the average temperature will be around 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:50
29 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature here in Taguigarao.
02:55
In Baguio, 17 to 24 degrees Celsius, 23 to 31 for Metro Manila,
03:00
and 31 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature for Legazpi City.
03:05
Here in Tagaytay, the average temperature will be around 22 to 29 degrees Celsius.
03:12
The weather will change in the cold part of our country, here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
03:18
As we saw in our latest satellite animation earlier,
03:22
due to the effect of the Intertropical Convergence Zone,
03:25
we expect dark weather in Mindanao and other parts of Palawan.
03:33
It is possible for moderate to heavy rainfall,
03:36
especially in the eastern section of Mindanao, in the Caraga and Davao Region area.
03:41
We may experience heavy rainfall.
03:44
So, double caution to our countrymen,
03:46
because it is possible for floods and landslides.
03:51
Meanwhile, during the rainy season here in Visayas,
03:54
we may experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions,
03:58
and there are also possibilities of isolated thunderstorms.
04:04
Usually, we experience this in the afternoon or at night.
04:07
As for the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities,
04:10
in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
04:12
we expect 31 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature here in Puerto Princesa,
04:17
as well as in Calayaan Islands,
04:19
as well as in the neighboring cities here in Visayas,
04:22
in Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban,
04:25
we may also experience 31 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature.
04:29
As for the temperature forecast for Cagayon de Oro,
04:31
we expect 25 to 30 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature
04:36
for Zamboanga and here in Metro Davao,
04:40
we may experience 31 degrees Celsius.
04:44
As for the situation of our ocean,
04:46
we do not have any gale warnings for high tides,
04:50
but we still have to be careful about the expansion plans
04:53
in the coastal areas of Northern Luzon
04:55
because we expect high tides
04:58
and moderate to rough sea conditions
05:00
in the coastal areas of Luzon and in the eastern seaboards of our country.
05:07
Our sunrise is at 6.19 a.m. and sunset is at 5.35 p.m.
