Good morning, this is the latest weather update for the day of Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
00:07
At present, the effects of the winds of Amihan or Northeast Monsoon, as well as the shearline,
00:13
or the cold and hot winds that we will see here in our latest satellite animation,
00:20
a large part of our country will experience a rainy season due to the effects of these two weather systems.
00:28
Aside from the previous typhoon Romina, which has no effect on any part of our country,
00:35
we do not monitor any other low-pressure areas or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:42
As of today, the effects of these two weather systems, the winds of Amihan, as well as the shearline,
00:49
will still be rainy, especially in the southern zone as well as the eastern portions of Visayas.
00:56
The winds of Amihan will also be rainy in the eastern portions of the northern and central zones.
01:02
We will know later which specific provinces will experience heavy rains according to our latest weather advisory.
01:11
We also expect that until Christmas, the effects of the shearline and the winds of Amihan will continue.
01:19
We expect that for the next two days, we will still experience rainfall due to these weather systems.
01:27
The weather will change here in the Luzon.
01:30
As we mentioned earlier, a large part of the southern Luzon will experience a rainy season due to the effects of the shearline.
01:38
In Mimaropa, Calabarzon, and Bicol regions, there will be a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall due to the effects of the shearline.
01:48
The winds of Amihan will also be rainy in the eastern portions of the northern and central Luzon,
01:53
in Cagayan Valley, in the Cordillera Administrative Region, in the provinces of Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan,
02:01
as well as in Metro Manila.
02:03
It is possible that there will be cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfalls due to the effects of the winds of Amihan.
02:10
Meanwhile, in the northern part of the Luzon, we will experience cloudy skies until it becomes cloudy again.
02:17
If there is rain, it will be temporary or sudden with light to moderate rainfall.
02:24
As for the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities in the Luzon,
02:28
the maximum temperature outside will reach 32 degrees Celsius.
02:33
It will also be cold here in Tuguegarao, which can only reach 27 degrees Celsius maximum temperature.
02:39
In Baguio, the maximum temperature will be around 16 to 23 degrees Celsius.
02:46
The maximum temperature here in Metro Manila will be 30 degrees Celsius.
02:50
The maximum temperature here in Legazpi will also be cold, which can only reach 28 degrees Celsius.
02:58
And here in Tagaytay, it will be around 22 to 28 degrees Celsius.
03:05
As for the weather forecast for the neighboring parts of the country, here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
03:13
we will still experience moderate to heavy rainfall in the areas of Palawan and Eastern Visayas,
03:24
in the summer and later provinces.
03:26
Meanwhile, in the northern part or the rest of Visayas and Mindanao,
03:30
we will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions.
03:34
If there is rain, it will only be temporary thunderstorms
03:38
or sudden rainstorms that we will experience more often in the afternoon or at night.
03:44
We will just monitor the thunderstorm advisory issued by our Pag-as Regional Services Division.
03:50
As for the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities,
03:53
here in Palawan, Kalayaan Islands, the maximum temperature will reach 29 degrees Celsius,
03:59
as well as in Puerto Princesa.
04:01
And as for the neighboring cities in Visayas,
04:03
the maximum temperature will reach 30 degrees Celsius for Iloilo, Cebu, as well as Tacloban.
04:11
As for the neighboring cities here in Mindanao,
04:13
the maximum temperature here in Zamboanga will reach 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:19
30 degrees Celsius maximum temperature is expected in Cagayan de Oro.
04:23
And as for Metro Davao, the maximum temperature will range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:32
This is based on our latest weather advisory
04:36
for heavy rains that we expect for the next few days.
04:40
According to our latest image,
04:42
the areas shaded in yellow and orange may experience heavy rains.
04:49
Today is December 24.
04:51
The areas shaded in orange may experience heavy to intense rains
04:57
and the total accumulated rainfall may reach 100 to 200 millimeters in the next 24 hours.
05:04
In the provinces of Quezon, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, and Northern Samar,
05:10
you may experience heavy to intense rains.
05:13
And the areas shaded in yellow may experience moderate to heavy rains
05:18
or 50 to 100 millimeters of total accumulated rainfall in the next 24 hours.
05:24
Moderate to heavy intensities are possible in Aurora, Marinduque, Romblon,
05:30
the vast majority of the Bicol region, as well as the rest of the Samar provinces.
05:35
So, double caution to our countrymen here in the mentioned provinces
05:39
because it is possible for landslides or landslides,
05:42
especially in flood-prone or hazard-prone areas.
05:46
And tomorrow, on Christmas Day,
05:49
the effect of the shear line will continue and it will still cause heavy rains,
05:54
especially in the southern zone.
05:57
Heavy to intense rains are possible tomorrow in Aurora,
06:01
here in Quezon, in the Camarines provinces, as well as in Catanduanes.
06:05
And the areas shaded in yellow are also possible tomorrow.
06:09
Moderate to heavy rains are possible in Isabela, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna,
06:16
and here in Metro Manila.
06:18
In Marinduque, in Romblon, in the vast majority of the Bicol region,
06:22
in Northern and Eastern Samar, moderate to heavy rains are also possible.
06:27
So, we hope that heavy rains will continue here in the mentioned provinces
06:33
until tomorrow on Christmas Day.
06:35
So, double caution to our countrymen,
06:37
especially those who are returning to their provinces.
06:42
For high waves, there is a high-level gale warning in Ilocos Norte,
06:50
as well as in Northern and Eastern coasts of Polilio Islands, in Quezon,
06:54
and Northern and Eastern coasts of Catanduanes.
06:57
High waves may reach 4.5 meters here in the mentioned coastal areas.
07:03
So, it is dangerous to cross, especially to our countrymen,
07:06
especially to our countrymen who have small sea vehicles and our fishermen.
07:12
Our sunrise is at 6.18 AM and it will set at 5.34 PM.
