00:00Hello, welcome to your national weather updates.

00:03Much of this week will be dry.

00:05But where we do see showers, they could be on the heavy side.

00:08Certainly, that's the case through Monday afternoon.

00:10Many of us saw some rain during Sunday night.

00:13This band of rain breaking up as it moved across the country.

00:16It was a cold front, so it's introduced cooler air.

00:19So despite some sunshine, it's not particularly warm out there.

00:22And as I said, we do have some showers.

00:24Already seen some across Scotland.

00:25And just dribbling down towards parts of northern and eastern

00:29England, a few sharp showers around this afternoon.

00:32But many places will stay dry.

00:34Sunny spells for Wales, Northern Ireland, southwest England,

00:37and a mixture of sun and cloud elsewhere.

00:40Despite some decent spells of sunshine, as I said,

00:42it's not particularly warm.

00:4418, maybe 19.

00:46Many places nowhere near that.

00:4713 or 14 Celsius.

00:49Feeling cooler with that breeze across northern Scotland

00:52and down some eastern coasts.

00:54Still the chance of a few heavy showers this evening

00:57over parts of northeast England, especially.

00:59But they should fade and be gone by midnight.

01:01It's a bit of cloud spilling into the far north.

01:02Otherwise, it's largely dry and clear.

01:04And that means it will be a bit of a chilly one again

01:07overnight.

01:07Temperatures swell down into single digits.

01:11Some places may not be far off freezing.

01:13First thing on Tuesday morning.

01:15Overall, though, it will be another dry, bright day

01:18for England and Wales.

01:19More cloud for northern Scotland initially.

01:21Bit of light rain here and there.

01:23And that will trickle down towards the central belt.

01:25Cloud increasing across Northern Ireland

01:27during the day as well.

01:29But most of England and Wales dry, bright.

01:31Yes, some cloud bubbling up.

01:32But most places will stay dry and fine

01:35with a bit of sunshine.

01:36Could just see a bit more in the way of showery rain pushing

01:39into southern Scotland, then northern England

01:42late in the afternoon.

01:44The wind's mostly light, but still a bit of a northerly

01:46breeze coming in across Scotland,

01:49parts of northern England.

01:50And again, it's not going to be particularly warm.

01:53Probably highest temperatures in the south, 18, 19,

01:55perhaps 20 here and there.

01:57But mostly, it's 14 to 16.

01:59So again, below par for this time of year.

02:03As we go through Tuesday evening, a few more showers

02:05just trickling into northern England.

02:08Very well scattered.

02:08So again, most places will stay dry.

02:11And those showers tending to fade away,

02:13leading to most places, again, having a fine, bright day

02:15on Wednesday with high pressure nearby.

02:18This high will continue to dominate the weather

02:20through much of this week.

02:21At times, weather front's trying to topple in.

02:24And still, the risk, even with high pressure nearby,

02:26of one or two showers through the day,

02:28particularly so by the time we get to Friday.

02:31But generally, with high pressure nearby,

02:32it will be, for most of us, a dry week.

02:35And it should just start to get a little bit warmer

02:38as we head towards the end of the week as well.
