00:00Hello there and welcome to your Thursday forecast issued by the Met Office. Well, through this

00:06morning we'll see some showers and then thickening cloud will bring some outbreaks of rain from

00:11the south west. Some moderate bursts are likely with the risk perhaps even of some localised

00:16flooding. Quieter weather across the north with some brighter skies. However, through

00:20this morning we do have a bank of cloud here and that feed of showers. We can see gaps

00:25in the cloud with some sunshine coming through before the rain arrives across Dumfries and

00:30Galloway, Ayrshire, the Central Belt as well as Argyll and Bute. Ahead of it we'll see

00:35perhaps some sunshine by around mid-afternoon, one or two showers lurking and then across

00:41the far north there for Shetland, always more in the way of cloud, quite a brisk breeze.

00:45The breeze will pick up some strength in the south, temperatures then 12 or 13 degrees

00:50Celsius. So if you are stepping out through Thursday afternoon into evening time, the

00:54rain will become more patchy across the far south west, border regions seeing its fair

00:58share though and moving up towards anywhere Glasgow, Edinburgh and northwards we'll see

01:03some moderate bursts of rain. That rain pushes up towards Bremar, Aberdeenshire but more

01:07cloud here. Brighter skies perhaps for Thurso as well as Orkney and by that time for Shetland

01:13you should see the sun. However, further north west, yes, you'll be under that cloud band

01:18with that rain right the way through evening time and again we could see some quite hefty

01:22rainfall totals here. So yes, there could be some surface water issues. The rain then

01:27pushes up towards the far north of the mainland, showers will follow and then all in all it's

01:32going to be a bit of a wet night wherever you are, although perhaps some dry skies down

01:36towards the far south. Temperatures holding up then with that breeze, the cloud and the

01:40rain, 7 to 11 degrees Celsius. However, that rain will retreat and it will clear, so Friday

01:46an improving picture with some sunshine coming through in just one or two showers. Bye bye.
