Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. Now things
00:04
will steadily get more unsettled as we enter the latter part of the week.
00:08
Before that though, high pressure hangs on through Tuesday night across more
00:14
central and eastern areas. As a weather front slowly makes inroads across
00:18
Scotland and Northern Ireland, the winds will pick up some strength. A lighter
00:22
breeze though across central southern England, East Anglia as well as the
00:25
southeast could allow some mist and fog patches to form. As this weather front
00:30
through Wednesday gradually tracks down towards England and Wales with some
00:34
brighter skies to follow towards the northwest but one or two showers. And
00:38
this front also will be associated with some stronger winds for a time. So let's
00:42
backtrack to Tuesday evening. Clearer skies across much of the Midlands with
00:47
central southern England down towards the southeast. Cloud will thicken across
00:51
Wales, Northern England as rain approaches western Scotland as well as
00:55
Northern Ireland. And this is when the winds will pick up so we could even see
00:58
gales for a time across the western side of Scotland. The cloud then spills ahead
01:02
of it so that's going to keep temperatures up across Scotland, the far
01:05
north of England, the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland. But it will be a cold
01:09
start to the day come Wednesday across central and eastern areas of England.
01:14
Under some clearer skies we could even see some mist and fog patches form and
01:18
it will be a chilly one. So this rain here by around mid-morning will have
01:23
arrived across northern England as well as western and northern parts of Wales
01:27
clearing the northwest with a few showers. The winds will then ease and
01:31
then this weather front will gradually push down towards the Midlands,
01:34
Lincolnshire, covering much of Wales as well as the West Country. Some heavy
01:39
pulses possible around the middle part of the day over the higher ground and a
01:43
brighter start to the day towards the southeast will give way to more cloud
01:47
through the afternoon but that's where we'll see the highest temperatures. So
01:50
the rain will linger on across the far south on Thursday morning but a ridge of
01:54
high pressure will allow for some lower temperatures and even some mist and fog
01:58
yet again before things turn decidedly unsettled through Thursday and into
02:02
Friday. So expect stronger winds from time to time as well as outbreaks of
02:06
rain as we really are exposed to weather coming in from the west. So here's your
02:10
summary as we head into the weekend. Yes unsettled with rain at times and also
02:15
breezy. Bye bye.
