11 June - national forecast presented by Clare Nasir
Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning which is a
00:04calm morning with some sunshine around let me take you through the detail across
00:09southern counties expect a little bit more cloud first thing but it is
00:12breaking for much of England and Wales at central and southern Scotland some
00:15sunshine a little bit more clouds coming in across Northern Ireland and some
00:19showery bursts clearing the Outer Hebrides clipping Sutherland as well as
00:22Caithness and pushing towards Orkney you could see a little bit of rain here
00:26through the middle part of the day elsewhere the cloud could build through
00:31lunchtime into the afternoon most places will be dry I say most places because
00:35towards the southwest we could see the onset of more cloud than one or two
00:38showers here temperatures then coming in around 21 across Scotland 18 or 19 for
00:44Northern Ireland depending if you see some cloud breaks further south across
00:48Wales 23 to 25 and a 26 anywhere from northwest England down towards the
00:52southeast now that showery rain which I just spoke about will slowly move
00:58across Republic of Ireland towards the west country as well as Wales central
01:02southern England the winds will pick up through this evening and overnight
01:04certainly on the eastern side and this rain is likely to turn thundery with the
01:09risk of some lightning strikes as well we'll see some dry skies anywhere from
01:13mid Wales northwards and eastwards but that rain could turn heavy into
01:17tomorrow morning across Northern Ireland Western Scotland Wales and then by
01:21lunchtime north and northwest of England by this point we will see showers
01:27developing towards the south as well as the west and these could actually turn
01:30thundery as well some brightest skies across the eastern fringe of England
01:34temperatures here 26 degrees Celsius generally speaking the high teams or the
01:38low 20s but notice this wind it will be rather gusty across eastern counties of
01:43Scotland the eastern fringe of England and a bit of a breeze across the Irish
01:47sea coast as well now into Friday more wet weather on its way certainly through the
01:52morning a mix of cloud and sunshine across Scotland England and Wales also
01:56Northern Ireland seeing some fine weather but notice this rain developing and moving
02:00northwards it's going to intensify through the morning into the afternoon and
02:03again we'll see the increasing risk of thunder lightning and hail through the
02:08middle to the latter part of the day further thundery downpours expected to
02:13develop across Channel Coast and again pushing ever northwards so it's going to
02:18be a lively end to the day a hot one for more central and eastern areas very
02:23humid wherever you are and temperatures in the north again around 21 degrees
02:27Celsius but we could see a 29 towards the southeast 28 for East Anglia 26 for
02:32mid Wales so that's a picture through Friday lively day we could see some
02:37impactful rain particularly across Western Scotland later some heavy downpours things
02:41tend to freshen up on Saturday the breeze will be keen so a brisk wind coming
02:46through and delivering some showers which will be fairly scattered some
02:50sunshine in between and temperatures not as high see you later
