Hello there. Turning wet and windy over the next 24 hours or so. In fact, Metobus wind
00:06
warnings already out across parts of western and southwestern parts of the UK through Tuesday
00:12
and into Wednesday. And we can see that on the bigger picture. An area of low pressure
00:16
developing in the Atlantic pushing eastwards bringing strong winds and heavy rain. Wind
00:21
gusts of 50, 60 miles an hour plus, particularly across the west. But this low pressure hanging
00:26
around only slowly moving away as we head from Thursday and into Friday. So an unsettled
00:32
few days to come and quite cool as well. Already turning quite chilly out there across the
00:38
UK through Easter Monday evening. Showers tending to fade away though this area continues
00:44
to bring showery rain across northern parts of England, southern and western Scotland
00:48
into the early hours and a few showers for Wales and the southwest of England too. But
00:53
losing their intensity compared to what we saw during the day. In between we will see
00:57
some clear spells and this will allow it to turn quite chilly. Temperatures dipping into
01:01
low single figures as we head into Tuesday morning. So perhaps a touch of grass frost
01:06
for some where we've got the blue skies to start Tuesday morning. But already showers
01:12
across parts of central, southern, western Scotland and then thicker cloud pushing in
01:16
from the southwest as this area of low pressure moves in. Outbreaks of heavy rain pushing
01:20
into Northern Ireland, Wales, central, southern England, southwest England. Rain really on
01:26
and off and heavy through the day. Winds really picking up too. We could see gusts of 50-60
01:32
miles an hour around the coast, even inland 40-50 miles an hour. Best of the sunshine
01:37
holding on across parts of Scotland, eastern England. But it will be a fairly chilly day
01:42
with those winds increasing. Best of the temperatures across the far east, 13 or 14 degrees. Really
01:48
struggling in some western parts to reach double figures. As we move through into the
01:53
evening time, this band of rain continues to push northwards, heavy at times leading
01:56
to some disruption through the rush hour. Into the early hours we'll see blustery showers
02:02
moving in from the southwest, some of these heavy. The rain falling as snow over the mountain
02:07
tops of Scotland too. The winds just easing for a short time during the early hours and
02:12
again this will allow temperatures to fall to low single figures and that means a fairly
02:18
bright start to Wednesday morning. Showers from the word go. This arc of rain stretching
02:24
around the country will bring the return of strong winds into parts of Wales, southwest
02:29
England and along the coasts of southern England too as we move through the day. And this also
02:33
falling as snow over the tops of the mountains in Wales. In between we will see some sunshine,
02:39
lighter winds for parts of Scotland, eastern England but really cold feeling day. Temperatures
02:44
struggling 8 or 9 Celsius, perhaps 11 to 12 across the far south and add on the strength
02:51
of the wind it will feel colder than the numbers suggest. We stay unsettled as we move through
02:56
the rest of the week. Sunshine and showers through Thursday and Friday but it looks like
03:00
it does become a bit drier as we move into the weekend and temperatures start to rise
03:06
a little too. So quite a lot going on in the weather over the next few days. You can keep
03:10
up to date with the information on our social media channels. See you again soon.
