Hello there. Some wet and windy weather over the next few days. In fact, Met Office warnings
00:06
already in force for Tuesday and Wednesday. Strong winds, gusts of 50-60 mph possible
00:11
around western coast, perhaps some inland areas too. So there's some disruption possible
00:16
over the next few days. And looking at the bigger picture, it's this area of low pressure
00:20
developing in the Atlantic moving across the UK through Tuesday into Wednesday. Look at
00:26
the isobars close together. Some very strong winds possible, 50-60 mph, but also accompanied
00:31
by some heavy rain. And it really takes its time to move out of the way Thursday and into
00:35
Friday, leaving a legacy of heavy showers. And showers is what we have this Easter Monday
00:41
across the UK. Sunny spells in between. Showers perhaps merging to give some longer spells
00:46
of rain too. Some of these showers heavy at times, the risk of some hail and thunder.
00:50
But in between, some sunny spells. But a blustery afternoon, and that will just take the edge
00:55
off the temperatures. The coolest of the long Easter weekend highs around 14 or 15 in the
01:01
southeast, generally 11 or 12 elsewhere. So just feeling a little chilly across the UK.
01:07
Into this evening time, we still have some heavy showers, so travelling conditions could
01:11
deteriorate at times if you are out and about. But overnight, the showers start to ease.
01:16
We see some lengthy clear spells developing. And in between, when we get those lengthy
01:21
clear skies, we'll see temperatures starting to drop away. Perhaps close to freezing in
01:25
the countryside, 2 or 3 degrees, leading to a touch of frost. But the general town and
01:30
cities across the UK holding up above freezing. So it means a chilly start to Tuesday morning.
01:36
There'll be sunny spells, but also showers, particularly across central western parts
01:40
of Scotland. And then the clouds thickening through the morning from the southwest as
01:44
this area of low pressure moves in. Outbreaks of heavy rain moving in Northern Ireland,
01:48
Wales, the Midlands, southwest England, and strong winds too. The meteor is warning coming
01:53
in force here. 50, 60 miles an hour gusts up through the Irish Sea. Best of the sunshine
01:58
holding on across the north-east of Scotland, eastern parts of England. But even here, one
02:03
or two showers are possible. And quite a cool feeling day, particularly where we have those
02:08
gusty winds. 11, 12 Celsius, the very best. 13 or 14 in the brightness in the far east.
02:14
So quite disappointing for this time of year. Then the rain quickly pushes north-eastwards
02:20
through this evening time, bumping into some colder air over the higher ground. Scotland
02:24
could give some snow here. Behind it, we do see some clear spells, some blustery showers
02:29
moving in. Temperatures dropping away, 3 or 4 Celsius. That wind warning mailing in force.
02:34
But they do ease a little bit ahead of then Wednesday when the winds whip up again. 50,
02:38
60 miles an hour across southwestern parts of the UK. Further wet and windy weather for
02:43
many. This followed by sunshine and showers on Thursday and Friday. The winds gradually
02:49
easing but still feeling rather cool for the time of year. So there's quite a lot going
02:52
on with our weather over the next few days. You can keep up to date on our social media
02:58
channels. I'll see you again soon.
