00:00 Hello, there. Welcome to your latest weather update from The Met, as we're going to the
00:04 second half of the weekend. I'm afraid to say that there is more rain in the forecast.
00:08 It's all courtesy of this area of low pressure which has been dominating the UK as we've
00:13 gone through Saturday. As we go through Sunday, it's not really going to go very far, but
00:17 then it does eventually move in towards the continent as we go into early next week. That
00:22 will allow this area of high pressure to begin to build in. That will turn things a little
00:26 bit drier and more settled for a time, but then further outbreaks of rain will then move
00:31 in towards parts of northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland as we go into Wednesday.
00:37 But back to the here and now as we end Saturday. Actually, we will start to see some clearer
00:41 skies for a time across parts of England and Wales. So there may be a good opportunity
00:45 to see the meteor shower tonight here. Further north, rather grey with further outbreaks
00:50 of rain. Some of this rain will be potentially fairly heavy and that will sink its way south
00:54 eastwards as we go through the course of the night. It will be quite a blustery night across
00:58 the UK too, especially down towards the south western corner where we will see some coastal
01:02 gales and also up across the very far north east of Scotland. So with the cloud, rain
01:08 and wind around, it's not going to be a cold night. Certainly for the time of year, these
01:12 temperatures are well above average. Around the north, we're looking at most towns and
01:17 cities falling down to around 7 to 9 degrees. In the south, firmly staying in double figures.
01:23 We start Sunday, actually, we may well see some sunshine initially across the south eastern
01:29 corner of England if you're up earlier enough. Elsewhere, rather grey skies with some outbreaks
01:33 of rain working their way eastwards. Some of this rain will be heavy at times and then
01:39 behind it, we'll start to see some brighter skies for parts of Northern Ireland, maybe
01:43 the far west of Wales and south western England. But really, the best of the brightness as
01:49 we go through the course of the day will probably be reserved for eastern Scotland, maybe the
01:53 far north eastern corner of England too. Temperature wise on Sunday, generally reaching around
02:00 12 degrees up across Scotland. Further south, we'll be in the teens, around 14 or 15 degrees,
02:07 probably the max. So a little bit cooler than what we have seen on Saturday. Into the evening,
02:14 we will start to just see a little bit of a drier and clearer spell of weather moving
02:17 in across parts of England and Wales for a time, but it won't last. You can see this
02:21 next little area of rain moving in as the night goes on. For Scotland and Northern Ireland,
02:27 we remain rather cloudy with some further outbreaks of rain with potentially the clearest
02:32 of skies as we start Monday morning over towards north eastern England and down in towards
02:36 Yorkshire. But with the cloud and rain around, again it's going to be another fairly mild
02:41 one. As we start Monday morning, temperatures will be again above average for the time of
02:45 year, maybe more in towards the high single figure mark rather than the low double figures
02:51 what we will see tonight. So as we go into Monday, this area of cloud and rain across
02:56 southern England and Wales will clear in towards France as we go through the course of the
03:01 morning. Behind it, we will see a brief drier and brighter interlude developing across northern
03:06 England. That will sink its way into parts of the Midlands and East Anglia as the afternoon
03:11 goes on. Elsewhere, a good deal of cloud around, maybe a few brighter moments for Northern
03:16 Ireland. For Scotland, actually, it's going to be fairly grey and damp across eastern
03:20 parts with that rain potentially a little bit persistent at times. In the west, it will
03:25 feel a little bit cooler thanks to this nagging northerly wind. Elsewhere, again, temperatures
03:30 around average or maybe just a smidgen above, especially down towards the south eastern
03:34 corner. Well, if you want more information about the weather where you are over the next
03:39 few days, you can always check out our website or our app and don't forget to follow us on
