00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest Met Office forecast.
00:04High pressure is really dominating for most of us and we look at the pressure pattern,
00:09we can see that nicely across the UK.
00:11However, low pressure is still close to the northwest of the UK.
00:14It will give some outbreaks of heavy rain, some stronger winds,
00:17particularly across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland over the next 24 hours or so.
00:22But for most, it is all about the temperatures and where the sunshine comes out,
00:26temperatures really rising well above average for the end of June.
00:32So there has been some cloud across particularly England and Wales this morning,
00:35but through the afternoon it should continue to lift and break.
00:38But there will be some parts that stay cloudy all day.
00:41The cloud could be thick enough for a little bit of drizzle over the hills of Wales,
00:44one or two showers across Northern Ireland up into the Western Isles too.
00:49But elsewhere, it generally should be dry.
00:51And as I mentioned, where the sunshine comes out,
00:53temperatures really rising mid to high 20s across central and eastern parts of England,
00:59in particular towards 31 Celsius in southeast England.
01:03Elsewhere, generally under the cloud, more like the low 20s.
01:07It's still fairly pleasant for the time of year.
01:10Into this evening time, we'll see the risk of further showers across Northern Ireland,
01:14some rain pushing across Orkney and Shetland.
01:17But otherwise, it's generally dry.
01:19And then overnight, the cloud thickens again to give some outbreaks of light rain
01:22and drizzle across some Western high ground.
01:25And the risk of further showers across the far northwest into the early hours as well.
01:29But generally, much of England and Wales should be seeing clear skies.
01:33But with high humidity levels, temperatures really not dropping,
01:37despite those clear skies, 16 to 18 Celsius, one or two spots,
01:41perhaps even remaining above 20 Celsius,
01:44something a little fresher across the far northeast of Scotland there,
01:48but combined with some showers passing through.
01:50So it's a bright start across England and Wales.
01:53There should be more sunshine to start Monday morning compared to each morning over the weekend.
01:57But thicker cloud across the northwest of the UK.
02:00This is going to introduce some heavy rain across Northern Ireland into northwest Scotland
02:05as we move through the day.
02:06It could be some localized flooding as the rain could turn quite torrential in places.
02:10So it is worth staying up to date with the latest forecast.
02:14Elsewhere across Scotland, the risk of one or two showers,
02:16the cloud increasing, but across much of England and Wales,
02:20there should be lengthy sunny skies, just some low cloud perhaps lingering around some coasts,
02:25particularly in the west.
02:26And then the cloud bubbling up as the temperatures rise into the afternoon.
02:31And temperatures more widely high 20s, low 30s, reaching 34 Celsius,
02:36possibly a little higher towards the southeast,
02:39something we will keep a close eye on,
02:41something a little fresher across Northern Ireland into northwest Scotland
02:44under the cloud and heavy rain.
02:46But still temperatures approaching the mid-20s in any sunshine across Aberdeenshire.
02:52Into the evening time, the heat of the day,
02:54we could see one or two thunderstorms developing across parts of the Midlands,
02:57eastern England, but these will be very isolated.
03:00Most places will be dry and the rain continues to push eastwards
03:03across Northern Ireland and Scotland,
03:05but it should start to lose its intensity a little bit.
