00:00 Well I'm astonished and alarmed that the government is seriously considering cancelling High Speed 2 at Euston station,
00:06 cancelling High Speed 2 north of Birmingham, so basically it's just a train line from Birmingham, Curzon Street to Old Oak Common.
00:14 What it will mean is that all those businesses that have been destroyed, those homes that have been demolished will have been for nothing.
00:25 But also here's the irony, the journey time from Birmingham New Street to Euston's about 1 hour 21,
00:32 the journey time from Birmingham Curzon Street to Old Oak Common then to Euston will take longer than it currently takes.
00:39 So if the government goes ahead and cancels the station at Euston it will be a huge waste of taxpayers' money, businesses, communities and others will be let down.
