Ingredients 2 - 3 tbsp Oil 1 small size onion 1 small bay leaf (taiz paat) 1 - 2 black cardamom (ilaichi) 1 cinnamon stick (daarcheeni) 3 - 4cloves (laung) 1/4 tsp Black Peppercorns (kaali mirch) 1 tsp cumin seeds (zeera) 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste (Adrak & Lehsun) 1/2 tsp red chili powder (lal mirch) or as required 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi) 1/2 tsp salt (namak) or to taste 1 big size tomato (tamatar) 2 - 3 medium size potatoes (aloo) 3 cups water (paani) 1 & 1/2 cup rice
Garnishing 3 - 4 green chilies Fresh Coriander as required Mint (optional) 1/2 tsp Whole spice powder (garam masala)
