Canada: All About British Columbia

British Columbia is a province on Canada's west coast and the third most populous in the country. Vancouver, a cosmopolitan city of more than 630,000 people, is the largest city in the region. Its geographical location allows you to go swimming at the beach and walk in the mountains on the same day. Covered by many national parks, the Rocky Mountain region offers magnificent lakes and waterfalls as well as ancient, centuries-old forests. The Cariboo Chilcotin region, the cradle of the first gold miners, offers a 116km Bowron Lake Park circuit where you can try your hand at kayaking. Northern British Columbia, which covers 500,000 square kilometres, is full of picturesque towns like Prince George and has one of the best ski resorts in the country, Powder King Mountain Resort.
