Glasgow has been brimming with sunshine over the past few weeks, so as most of us have been spending more time outside, exhausting all the parks and green spaces in the city centre, here’s a guide to some of the best beauty spots within an hours drive.

Castle Semple Loch can be found at Lochwinnoch in Renfrewshire and can be reached in just over half an hour.

Some of the top activities include the Semple Trail, a walk along the lochside, and an off road cycle route between the city and Irvine.

The area is also a popular water sports destination and rowing, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking can be booked in advance.

Next, the Devil’s Pulpit is a steep gorge that cuts through red sandstone, it’s an excellent spot to explore near the Loch Lomond Waterfront.

Legend has it is that the mossy rock which sits above the blood red water is where the devil would stand an address his followers.

It has also proved a popular filming location, featuring in Outlander, Pokemon, Robert the Bruce and Outlaw King.

And finally, the bustling tourist town Callander can be reached in around 50 minutes and is the perfect location for a day trip.

Situated on the River Teith, there are plenty of wooded areas and pathed walkways to take advantage of, and the high street is home to a famous ice cream shop, bars and shops.
