Essential Travel Itinerary: Costa Rica
Costa Rica is one of the happiest countries in the world with a welcoming and hospitable local population surrounded by a land which may seem wild and crazy, but in fact, just needs to be tamed and understood. Wanting to understand the country's place in the world, you'll obviously get a fill in the capital San José's Peace Museum, the National Museum of Costa Rica and the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum. Additionally, the central market place is a great shopping and delicacy tasting experience. The country has six active volcanos, including Arenal Volcano just 50 miles from the capital. While it erupts occasionally, its latent energy creates a soothing hot spring by La Fortuna waterfall. The surrounding landscape's also popular for zip-lining and white-water rafting. The Nicoya Peninsula's beautiful Pacific coastline and beaches offer an opportunity for various water sports. It's also popular for students wishing to let loose on extended breaks and sabbatical.
