Croatia's quickly advanced up the popularity scales in terms of tourism and millions now appreciate the sheer beauty of its Adriatic coast, unique historic cities and the captivating hedonism seen nationwide in the summer months. Zagreb displays much of this vibrancy while being surrounded by beautiful historical architecture, tranquil parks, educative museums. Pula, a major city on the Adriatic coast has a wealth of well-preserved Roman ruins, including a two thousand year old amphitheatre which regularly hosts concerts and exhibits. Split is the second city and has a fully pedestrianised historical centre. The town has a diverse range of activities in summer and serves as a point of departure for those visiting; Hvar Town, Stiniva Beach, Zlatni Rat Beach, and Mljet National Park. Dubrovnik is a compact, walled fortress city with meandering cobblestone streets, glistening architecture and many sightseeing opportunities from the surrounding hills.
