00:00Hello hi and welcome welcome to Olivia Cubes and this video is a video like no other it's
00:08gonna be pretty great I hope and I hope you like it it's learning new new abilities new skills so
00:15this video is all about creating a brand new file on your desktop creating a text document which
00:22we're gonna convert it into a HTML document which we're gonna convert that into a website so if
00:29you're interested in making say a help book if you want to do that great watch this video if you
00:35want to basically create a mobile website perfect again watch the video I want to show you everything
00:42from the text to the code to the HTML to the website I'll show you the whole entire lot nice
00:49easy and simple right from the very first beginning you only need one very simple tool to do this and
00:56it's free it's from Microsoft you can download it it's called Microsoft help workshop that's what
01:04it's called so just go on the internet just type this Microsoft HTML help workshop when you download it
01:12you get this I'm gonna give you a quick look at what you're gonna get you run the software you install
01:18it and then you really get this if you open any software more or less go to the help file go here
01:24help topic you get this now it's a book that's exactly what it is but you can use it as a mobile website I think it is great
01:36if you've got Wix Twitter not Twitter that's you got Wix and you got blogger and then you've got WordPress
01:42everything like that okay yeah they're all great sites they really are but I figured they're all kind of stuck in one place I think it's not really mobile
01:49okay how about if I make this and I can put all my content inside here and then you can access all the browsers and everything else from here
01:59anyway if you like the idea let me know and then we'll do it I want to do a nice and easy for you

02:18now I'm going to read this for anyone who can't read just in case they might be interested but they can't read it
02:24okay so anyway to give you an idea what it is you say create your new resources from scratch
02:30first of all why would you do that because if you if you've got a website and you already maybe you already know this maybe you don't
02:38if you upload any content to any website if you don't own that content and you might get yourself into a few problems later on
02:47you have to own the content before you share it okay otherwise if you're planning on
02:52create you know earning money from it then you can't necessarily do that okay anyway down here it
02:59says at the end of this quest okay you will have real world skills so this is a real video it's about
03:08real skills that you can apply to the real world and you can earn genuinely money off what I'm showing you
03:14you really can okay and down here and the more you learn down here it says the more
03:22the more you learn basically okay the more points you're going to get the more skill points you'll get
03:28the higher the skill points basically I'm going to tell you the better you're going to become at
03:33doing certain things so let's say you want the ability to let's say create a text document I want to
03:39give you the ability let's say what do you skill level to create the html plus the code to go with
03:46it okay yep I'll give you that ability and then of course if you want the skill level to create website
03:52again I'll give you the ability and then of course if you want to take it a little bit further and you
03:57want to make a 3d website for your 3d content of course we can do that and if you just want to learn
04:04either 3d or modeling I also do that so anyway basically that's what I'm going to show you so
04:11as I said over here so basically yeah so you say it says here unlock the door and your development
04:19and you're developing new skills so the more doors basically I'm telling you over here the more doors
04:25you unlock the more skills you're going to have basically that's what you are so down here you say
04:31you now have the quest key so I'm going to give you this key right here just to start the video off

04:46says okay so over here you have unlocked the resource key okay so you've got two keys here at the moment
04:56you've got the quest key and you've got the resource key we're going to be creating a resource

05:41what I'm going to tell you to do because I haven't put it down here
05:44I'm using a mouse on a laptop when I say right click I mean right click on the mouse
05:50when I say left click I mean left click on the mouse so the right click should open this menu
05:57and left click should close the menu okay that's very important to understand that so I'm going to
06:03show you right click left click and then I'm going to show you copy and paste which is the same thing
06:09it's still right click and then you come down to whatever whatever it is you got so when I put
06:15something on the desktop I can I can like this I can click on this and I'll come down look and I can go
06:21so don't forget I'm right clicking it come down left click copy right click and paste okay so I'm going to get rid of it so yeah
06:32so you know in a moment I'll be showing you how to right click and left click right click left click
06:39I'm making sure you understand it just in case you're like a younger generation and you don't know
06:42so if you've got a mouse on your laptop which you will have if you've got an external mouse it makes
06:47life a whole lot more easier to move something around the screen left click hold it and drag it
06:54left click hold it drag it okay that's all you have to do okay so first of all so we're going to create the resources
07:02so over here actually create a new file and name it very plain very simple so we're doing this one here
07:09we'll do number two so right click
07:13calm down your menu go to new
07:17left click new yes leave it don't do nothing and then you can name it
07:24okay you can call that whatever it is you want to call it it's entirely up to you so we can call it quest
07:36um what can we call it um i don't want to call it yeah let's call it quest

08:01okay now that's our new resource so that's that one done so that's one that's level one so okay we
08:12got we got the resource now this is the start of whatever it is that you will make it so you
08:18you don't have to call it that you can call it anything you want okay you can call it your web you
08:23can call it website if you want to don't call it website just call it whatever it is that you want to
08:27call it it's up to you okay so i'll tell you what to call it even better
08:37let's get rid of that i want to call it quest
08:40browser and i bet i better call it emma because always yeah somebody might think that i'm kind of
08:49using the resource okay so i'm going to call it that so emma's quest browser okay that way later on
08:57i can actually convert it over to a website and then when you're on the internet looking for
09:02mine and you're looking for emma's quest yeah yeah you're right you'll be right on top of it
09:07okay let's see what number two is now before we've done number two we want number three now before we do
09:13three i'll just explain this to you hold it left it hold it drag it let's click yeah i'm going to put it
09:19here for a moment okay right click on it i'm showing you this just in case you don't know
09:24let's say you don't let's say you've made it and you haven't named it let's say you didn't name it
09:29you can two left clicks okay so tick off it click it once click it twice and then you left it hold
09:36and drag it and then you can just delete it and make a new name if you don't want to name it that way
09:41you can right click i said i want to make sure i'll show you everything right click on it look down the
09:47menu go to rename rename it and then name it okay once you're happy with that that's it that's done
09:54okay when it comes to opening it you can have you click the file you can have two left clicks open it
10:02or you can right click and then you can left click open it doesn't matter how you open it really it's
10:08up to you so left if you want to move the file like this just go right on the edge of it just go like
10:16here drag it up drag it down go over here drag it this way drag it this way it doesn't matter just open it
10:22and maybe like that although over here number three you say create a text document inside your file name
10:31yeah inside your file and name it okay go inside the white bar
10:36again right click look down your menu go to new now it's off the screen you can't see it so what i
10:45want to do i want to move this up for you click the file go to new go here new text document
10:54where it's called text document click that when it comes in you want to call it the same name
11:02okay so i'm going to call my emma
11:04browser and i'm going to capitalize that
11:12and then we'll call that browser
11:18okay so we're just basically doing this i'm just i'll just check this one you can follow those
11:23anyway call it that i said if if you click off it by accident as they go back onto it just click it
11:28just click just click on it and you can click it once you should turn blue if you don't then click
11:33it twice if you don't want to do that you're going to right click come down the menu and go to rename so
11:40let me move this up you can right click on it come down the menu go to rename and rename it so as i said
11:46i want to make sure that you understand that exactly how to do that okay so we're going to leave that
11:50there temporarily so this is so now if if we click on it double click it it opens nothing inside it
11:57it's absolutely empty okay so two left clicks opens it don't matter to file don't matter to document
12:03don't matter to program two left clicks opens it okay now as i said all you're going to right click
12:08on it and go open so it's up to you okay not only can you right click on it and go open you can come
12:15down to here and say edit you can open it and now you can write inside it and then you can just basically
12:22save it so you can go here save it if you want to do that we will be doing that not yet in a moment
12:28so first we want to set these dishes out very first resource okay down here let's see what this one says
12:35so you open your file right click go to new add a bitmap photo and name it okay so we're
12:44we're already open so if you want to close it okay we can close it we can right click on it open
12:51once it opens right click again now this part i can't do it so watch right click come down the menu
13:00to new when you look here on your one you'll see a file here it's called bitmap that's what it's called
13:07but as you can see my one's not here it is there and if you get that problem
13:12you have to do it a different way so i'm going to show you like me now i'm going to do it a different
13:18way so for you just right click come down the menu and go add bitmap okay i'm going to open my documents
13:27i'm going to open photos i'm going to open emma's world it could be any photo anywhere okay so just
13:35check the photo i'm going to click it i'm going to right click on it i want to stop the screen again
13:42okay so all i'm going to do is right click on that come down the menu go to copy and i'm going to paste
13:49it in there okay my one look is a jpeg your one won't be a jpeg your one will be bitmap so i'm just
13:57going to show you how to do that just give me a second okay right click the photograph go here open it
14:04so when you right click on it and you open it it opens in mspaint shop like this okay which that's
14:12what it opens it so okay now what you want to do you can you can change that to a bitmap i'll show you
14:19go here go to save it as now your one's already a bitmap so i'm going to tell you for compatibility
14:26reasons on the internet because some now some websites they do open bitmaps but not many of
14:32them do some of them open png but not many of them do so the only two followers you want to get for
14:39your website you want either jpeg or glyph this okay if you want to do like an animation on your
14:46website if you want to do that kind of animation like have a ball spin around a circle have a bird
14:52flying across the screen and things like that anyway it's for animation purposes so you can use
14:57that so as it now you've clicked on your fold on your file as a while we're doing jpeg so i'm not
15:03going to change one okay so click on yours go edit go here when it opens don't matter what it
15:10okay don't matter what it is go to save it as go here save it as jpeg okay now you want to save it
15:18wherever you want to save it of course you want to save that on the desktop so go to desktop
15:23open your folder and find it here emma's quest save it here click throw and save save it
15:32you say you want to replace it yeah i do okay now just say yeah yours won't ask you that because your
15:40one is a bitmap and your one will save a second copy so your inside your file i'll show you this
15:47i'll show you what's in there that's what's in there so watch oh all i'm going to do i want to
15:55create a bitmap the one that you got go back here file i'll save i'll save it out as a bitmap watch
16:01because it's all in there okay so now you'll have two files like that you'll have a bitmap which is
16:11that one and you'll have a jpeg which is that one okay now if you want to know which one is which if
16:18you'll hover over it in windows you save there look b i can't go on i can't go on to it what you'll
16:24right click on it
16:28as i'm just making sure you understand this so right click on this go down to properties
16:33when you go properties look here say bitmap it's a bmp it's a bitmap order look like this one go
16:44properties look here you say jpg so you want to keep the jpg that's what you want to keep you can
16:52keep that as well if you want to i i'm going to tell you right click on it and get rid of it okay
16:59so making sure that we've only got the jpeg as i said right click on it come down look at it make
17:06sure give it a name whatever name you want to call that so i want to call it emma's quest browser
17:13so right click on it again come down and go to rename i've got the keyboard on the screen so it's
17:19blocking my view so go here come down the menu and go to rename and then just rename it emma quest browser
17:29okay so that's just what i'm going to call it so i want to keep everything the same
17:33so the text file is empty double clicking nothing there we've got a nice little photograph for our
17:41website and of course we've got a file just to get everything in so anyway if you're interested in
17:50watching more of the content as i said what we're going to be doing we're going to be customizing this
17:54now so that's all the resources that your resource is made so that's our quest here this is our
18:02resource now of course we can add more to that if we want to that said i don't want to get it too
18:07complicated on you too quick so come back and watch the next part and see what else we want to do

18:17going to thinking i can't believe that i've just done all of that that quick anyway keep it on my
