00:00Hello and welcome to the MakeHuman community and welcome to clothing. I'm shopping today and I want someone here. It's called a crop top and it's made by Pongduck. 8th of 26th of 2017.
00:16You can read the description if you want to. All credit goes to the actual person himself. It's a creative community, active view, whatever that means.
00:26Now, what we're doing, we're looking down, basically what you get. A top like this. It's like a vest, basically. That's what I'm going to tell you.
00:34It looks pretty great. So I think, okay, can I have it? Right click on the actual image. Come down to the menu. Just save it as.
00:42Saving downloads and saving. It's as simple as that. Go to the model. Now this one is for the software. This is for the software. This one is for the software.
00:51If you want it, you can just right click and save it as. I don't need it. So just take the object. Go here. Save it as. Save it.
01:00My antivirus will check it and you can say yes, keep it. Okay. Now that's it. That's all we have to do. MakeHuman.
01:07That's it. You've got some really fantastic assets in here. That really have. Some of the clothing here are absolutely great.
01:13Some of the actual models. The female models and male models. Also pretty great. So if you actually. After a character.

01:26Anyway, I want to go over to Blender. Because I don't want to take a look at the vest. So keep an eye on the content.
01:32Let's fire up Blender. In Blender. And as you know. Once I go shopping. I go into Blender. And what I do.
01:42I come down here. And I go to Import. Import the OBJ. Because it's a standard. Go here. Click that.
01:49We can split it and do these if you want to. This just tells you. If it's all separate. Or one piece.
01:55If it's all separate. I recommend. Basically putting it together. Import it. As it comes in look. It's one piece.
02:03Now like I tell you. It's entirely up to you. Whether you want to save the original. Like that.
02:09You can do. You can go here. Save it. Leave it down. I want to call this Z1.
02:16Everything that I save is Z1. Because it's a standard. No standard default.
02:22Now I tell you. That if it comes to subdividing. And smoothing a model. I will show you.
02:29You can right click on it. And you can go to Smooth. And it looks like that. That's great.
02:34But the problem with that. Is if you go into Model. Look at it. It's not a problem.
02:40But if your character moves a lot. Let's say she bends to the side. Moves to the left. To the right.
02:46Depending on how much movement your character has got. There's probably enough movement in that. Honestly. Really.
02:51But I want to do a bit more movement. So. I want to go here. Select all of it. Right click. Right click. And go subdivide.
03:01Now I tell you to do it once. The same with the bevel. If you bevel anything. The recommended bevel. Is only 2.
03:09You can do 3. 3 is a little bit more. But. Yeah. To recommend 2. Ideally. So. 3 is maximum. And 2 is minimum. The same with the bevel.
03:20Now. If I subdivide. If I subdivide that again. Press this. Select all of it. Right click. And go subdivide.
03:27And you see. It looks okay. But it's a little bit too much.
03:31Now. It'd be fantastic. If it moves a lot. If you want to do a cloth. That'd be great for that.
03:37But. If you undo that. And leave it on that. That's perfectly fine. For a piece of cloth.
03:42Now. Watch what happens with a smoothie. With a smoothie. It looks almost identical. But.
03:50Now. It's got more movement. So. If I turn that into a piece of cloth. It's going to be absolutely.
03:54Perfectly great. Now. We've got a material for this. Go to download. If you can't see it.
04:00Just go here. Show it. And you can see the actual color for it. Now. We want the UV map for it.
04:07So. Click on it. Go to UV map. Go here. Select. Select all of it. And you'll. As in. Go here.
04:16Make sure to edit mode. Select all of it. And you'll see. Press this. Go to export. And.
04:23I want to call this. Very simple. UV. Simple as that. Make sure to know.
04:29Make sure to download. And it's a 1024 texture. Save it. Now. What I can do. I'll go back to my downloads.
04:36Now. I like to use MS Paint Shop. For what I'm doing for. So. Let's take a look at the texture.
04:41Right click. Edit. This is MS Paint Shop. It shows how small it is.

04:53And we can scale it up. To whatever size. Tech. And whatever size our map is. So. I'm going to create the map.

05:06Right click. And go. Edit. OK. You see how big map is. If you click on this. Go here. You see my map is 1024.
05:14We can leave it at 1024. If you want to. Now. Most of my maps are 1024. That's what they are.
05:20We can kick it down. To about 512. If you want to. So. Before we do that. I'm going to copy that.

06:17You save the back. You save the transparency. We'll be lost. What is the transparency?
06:22Transparency is the background. So. It's either black. Or maybe it's white.

07:12I tell you to go to layer mode. Grab this. Drag it up. Go to UV map. Here. Put the shield on it. To lock it onto that. Go here.
07:22The UV map. The UV map is the black and white one. Or the checkerboard. Or whatever it is. Say yeah.
07:28Load in. It's a texture. The texture itself is. Just click. Just click new. You'll create a new one. Watch.
07:36You'll make a new material. Two left clicks. And you can just call that. As simple as TX.

16:45want the exact measurements of Emma then this is what i'll do this is how you would do it you would
16:51take the character herself so go here forget the vest click the character go here but actually i'll
16:58click the top i'll go here i'll go edit now you see where the vest is like this you can just select these
17:05and delete this part and you can select these and delete this part so you end up with this shape
17:14of course the top half of the torso the chest area yeah yeah don't forget it's already there if you've
17:20got if you've got the actual body for the character you've already got this section and you've already
17:25got this section so all you're going to do basically just chop out this section and then of course you've
17:31actually got a top for your character so as i said it's not hard to make the actual vest it's not
17:36hard to make it it's not but it's up to you how you want to go about making it so okay Emma i'll see
17:43that okay so that's how you do it the only thing you have you'll have to do all the best because if
17:48it's part of the character's body all you would do is select the edges and you would extrude it basically
17:56pull it out well that looks so you can put a bit of lip on it so when you look at it it doesn't look
18:00like your character's body really that is probably a character's body that's exactly what probably what
18:06that is so most likely because if you look at the actual geometry to it yeah it doesn't look like a
18:14character's body it really does anyway so anyway that's what i want to tell you so anyway if you want
18:20the item it belongs to someone called pop duck and they're on the website called make human i like
18:25going there i like shopping on there i like getting my free assets and i like seeing what they've got
18:30anyway they've got some really fantastic clothes and designers on there are pretty great so um anyway
18:36i like the content so if you if you want to interested in the vest now i can't make this one available
18:43because it's not as i said it's not technically my actual model but it is my modification of the model
18:49so i will be using it on blender i mean i will be using it on emma i will be in the game world well
