The urban nature of the Ballarat CBD has changed to reflect that more so of something that
00:05
you might see in a Brunswick or a Fitzroy.
00:07
It's become such a nice place to head out at 8 o'clock at night and grab a glass of
00:12
wine or grab a late dinner or something like that.
00:15
So the way that we've evolved over the last few years, it's become a much more desirable
00:21
place to live and it's something that we're proud of.
00:24
I'm very focused in what I want to bring to the Ballarat community.
00:31
When I say about flavours, I mean it.
00:33
I'm very serious about it.
00:36
Because flying chillies is not about spicy foods.
00:41
So all our food have chillies in there but we use chilli that is not spicy.
00:46
That actually when you cook it, it brings flavour to your dishes.
00:50
I want people to experience it as what they will experience if they're back home to Malaysia
00:55
or to Indonesia.
00:56
So to bring the authenticity in Ballarat is more important to me than ever.
01:02
It's a nice safe community that I can trust the people in it.
01:06
Good schools and access to brilliant facilities.
01:10
Everyone might laugh at this but I'd love to see Ballarat be more accessible by foot
01:15
and bike.
01:16
I think the quicker that we do that and if we do it early we will reap the benefits as
01:20
a community, not only environmentally but also I think we'll see a far greater representation
01:25
of people in town of an evening.
01:28
And by then I hope that we have a really safe environment where we can send our kids into
01:32
town and they can have a nice cold drink or something and come home after school.
01:37
I want the city to be accessible for people with disabilities.
01:40
I feel like that is the biggest gap that we have in our town at the moment.
01:44
When I take Emma out she's usually the only disabled child that's there and that's because
01:49
accessibility has not been thought about.
01:51
So I would love to go to an event where there's lots of kids with disabilities, you know,
01:56
there's lots of kids with invisible disabilities but Emma's also Maori so I'd like to see kids
02:01
that have ethnic backgrounds and more diversity.
02:04
I really want opportunity for all of those kids.
