00:00This is the Elite Gunstock for the Quest 3 by Sanlaki.
00:04So I play a lot of first-person shooter games, but yet I've never really used a gunstock,
00:09so I was excited to give this Elite Gunstock by Sanlaki a go.
00:13So the stock is mainly 3D printed, but it's all very well designed and feels very strong.
00:19So in the box there are 10 parts. You will only need 7 parts for the gun itself.
00:24Putting it together shouldn't take any longer than 5 minutes.
00:27First we are going to take the middle section and the gun butt and screw them together.
00:32Next, take the 2 end parts. Make sure to put them on in a correct order.
00:37Screw it in. Then finally take the end cap which comes in either black or orange
00:42and then screw that on to hold them both into place.
00:46Then slide on the sight to the top, which is obviously only for cosmetic reasons.
00:52And then finally put on the strap.
00:53Then take the 2 controller sections. This bit can be a little fiddly, so have a bit of patience.
00:59Make sure you have the correct controller cradle and the correct controller,
01:03meaning 2 lefts or 2 rights.
01:06Next, undo the screw, patiently slot your controller into the cradle,
01:11tighten the screw back up, then thread the controller safety string through the cradle strap.
01:17Then repeat for the other controller.
01:18The Sanlaki website has videos to help guide you through this process should you need help.
01:24So, how did I find it?
01:26Well, I tried it on a number of games.
01:29Unfortunately, there are many games that don't support gun stocks.
01:33I don't know how difficult it is to do,
01:35but games really need to get on board and offer settings for gun stock in their games.
01:40But the games I did manage to use it on, I think it did help to steady my aim,
01:45and it really did give me a better feeling of immersion.
01:48But it also really depends on the game.
01:51If you are playing a game that involves a rifle only, then that's the best.
01:55Even a rifle and a handgun is cool.
01:58So, like breaches or contractors.
02:00But where I started to struggle is when you add a backpack into the equation,
02:04like Contractor Showdown, because often you have to put your guns away to pack things up or grab things.
02:12So, having to pick your actual gun stock back up and then attach your controllers
02:16is a slower process than just grabbing your gun inside the game.
02:20Which, if you suddenly get jumped on, a second really does count.
02:25Don't get me wrong, it works, but it's slower.
02:28So, if you are playing a game where you constantly are holding a gun,
02:31then I think a stock works really well.
02:33But the games I played where it works, I really, really enjoyed using this stock.
02:39Yes, it's going to take some time to build up muscle memory
02:42to attach and detach one hand for reloading and so, but it doesn't take that long.
02:47What I did like was that when I played Zero Calibre 2,
02:51I used a pump-action shotgun sometimes, and I could actually pump the stock with no trouble.
02:56It just makes playing games so much better.
02:59Now, an issue I had with this stock was, with the placement of the strap,
03:03it's on the butt of the gun, so it's just awkward as when you lift up the gun,
03:07it can occasionally get trapped between the bottom of the butt and your shoulder,
03:11if you are not mindful of how you wear the placement of the strap.
03:14I do wish product developers would make it so you don't have to take off your controller grips
03:19every time you want to use the stocks.
03:22Same as other products, as this is what mostly puts me off using accessories.
03:26I love my large grips, and I need them to play comfortably,
03:30but having to remove them just to use an accessory is a pain.
03:33But if you don't use grips, or maybe if you play one type of game a lot, then this is okay,
03:39but I constantly have to change because I play many types of games.
03:43So, to sum it up, the Sandlaki Elite Gunstock is a great stock to use.
03:48It looks good, and it's strong.
03:50The real issue lays with game developers.
03:53They really do need to get on board and make settings for accessories.
03:57It would benefit everyone involved, the game devs, the accessory devs,
04:02and for the users who are going to buy an accessory,
04:04and would want to be able to use it with their favourite game, as well as any future games.
04:09Like, I can't remember what golf game it was,
04:12but they had a setting where they had made a template stick
04:15that you could adjust to fit over whatever stick you were using,
04:18and a few other adjustment settings, which I thought was genius,
04:22because then it's not restricted just to one type of accessory.
04:25If all games could make that type of setting in every game,
04:28just brilliant for everyone.
04:30Anyway, go to the Sandlaki website and check out this stock,
04:33as well as some of their other products.
04:34Now, touch that like button and subscribe button.
04:37Thanks for watching, guys, and happy gaming.
