00:30It's just murdering zombies man
00:32You play a dead hunter
00:33like it suggests
00:35You hunt the dead
00:36You will be sent into the field
00:38and will have to go through a number of missions
00:40each one bringing you deeper into the world of the dead
00:43Levels and size
00:45It's a huge size
00:467 main missions
00:48and each mission being split into 2 or 3 parts
00:51Each mission will give you roughly an hour's playtime
00:54give or take 10-15 minutes
00:55and that was our normal setting
00:57Everything looks detailed and the locations are really good
01:00I think you're going to get between 6-8 hours out of this game
01:04Playable Characters
01:05There are currently 4 characters to pick from
01:08Carl, June, Shola and Hector
01:11with another 2, Boris and Marie, coming soon
01:14I don't think there's any unique abilities about any of the characters
01:17I guess it's just for the co-op purposes
01:20Enemies and bosses
01:21There are many types of enemies in this game
01:23and each one will bring its own set of problems
01:26Some easy, some hard
01:28Some no weapons
01:29Some with weapons
01:30That can't shoot for shit
01:31Some crack snipers
01:33And man, watch out for them
01:35Damn suicide bombers
01:36Weapons
01:37I do like that you can carry 3 weapons
01:40Your primary weapon
01:42Which is your sniper rifle
01:43Your secondary weapon
01:44Which will be some sort of automatic weapon
01:47And then your sidearm
01:48All weapons are World War 2 time period
01:52Which obviously suits the Hitler Nazi zombies period and all
01:55There are plenty of ammo crates laying around
01:57Where you can restock up on your ammo
01:59You can also pick up numerous things to whack a zombie's head with
02:03Like axes, pipes, wrenches
02:05Then you have boxes of TNT
02:07Which you can throw and then shoot for a big bang
02:10Then there's grenades and mines
02:12And a couple of other nice toys that you will use along the way
02:14You also carry a bag which has 3 slots
02:17You can either carry a health stem, grenades or mines
02:21Leveling up options
02:22You can level each weapon up 4 times
02:25Mostly extended magazine, damage, reserve ammo and then handling or endurance
02:31You can upgrade by picking up upgrade kits when you're in the field
02:35You can also find cans for gun skins
02:37Be careful though
02:39Because if you upgrade your pistol
02:40And then you pick up another pistol out in the field
02:43Those upgrades don't carry over
02:45So you will have to start again on the new pistol
02:48You also earn XP for kills and how you kill zombies
02:52You get bonus if you can kill quickly in succession
02:55But if you stop too long you lose the stacking up
02:58As you gain XP you climb through the ranks
03:01Mechanics
03:02I didn't notice or come across any bugs whilst playing
03:05All my guns worked perfectly
03:07They all loaded great
03:08All zombies moved and died perfectly
03:11All levels were good
03:12No dropping out into oblivion or sinking through any floors
03:16No crashing
03:17Everything was great
03:18Controls
03:19You can play this seated or standing
03:21And it's basically point and shoot
03:23Grip to pick up stuff
03:24A button to open and close your backpack
03:26B button to inject health into you
03:28You'll pick it up pretty quickly
03:30Online playability
03:31You can play this game with your friend or someone random
03:34I didn't get a chance to play co-op mode
03:36But I can imagine this is a great laugh with a mate
03:39You have to share your resources
03:41So I think that's a benefit of playing co-op
03:43Game menus
03:44Game menus offer everything you expect
03:47Seated or standing
03:48Dominant hand
03:49Difficulty settings from easy, normal to hard
03:52Then visuals
03:53Sound volumes
03:54Lammoges
03:55Comfort settings
03:57Movement options for rotation
03:58Movement free or teleport
04:00Plenty of options to tailor your game to your needs
04:03And everything fits in with the game's theme
04:06My thoughts
04:07Now I'm a big fan of the Sniper Elite games
04:09I absolutely love them
04:11So I'm glad to see the slowdown kill cam is in this game
04:14My only real disappointment is with the talking between levels
04:18I'd much like to have seen actual interaction between characters in a VR story like
04:24Like Medal of Honor
04:25And like it did right at the beginning of this game after training
04:28I think it just makes it more immersive and helps bring you into the story
04:32It's not a deal breaker
04:34It's just a preference
04:35Now I know they are using World War 2 weapons
04:38And 3 is a perfect number to be able to carry
04:41But I wish you could also carry one weapon such as an axe or a pipe as well
04:45I also would like it so when you find and pick up a weapon out in the field
04:49It would appear in your home base
04:51So you could change weapons anytime you want
04:54Rather than be stuck with a weapon that you last pick up
04:57I also think there should have been upgrades for your bag too
05:00So you could upgrade from 3 slots to 4 to 5
05:03Maybe even up to 10
05:04Though there are always grenades and mines lying around
05:07But maybe on hard level you would see benefits of having these extra slots
05:12This game was just a joy
05:13So much fun
05:14Whilst I was playing I felt totally in the moment
05:17And was just totally enjoying playing
05:19And not getting distracted by any bugs or weapons not working properly
05:24It felt like a real good arcade shooter
05:26Just totally enjoyable
05:28If you enjoyed the Sniper Elite games then absolutely get this
05:32If you enjoy zombie games get this
05:34If you enjoy arcade type shooters get this
05:37So overall I mark Zombie Army VR a 9.6 stars
