00:00This is Arc Hero by the developers Interco Industries and it was released on the 12th of May 2025.
00:24Now I'll be brutally honest here, I just don't know what this game is.
00:29Now if the game was free then fair enough, but there's a $20 price tag attached to this and that's pretty ridiculous.
00:35In the Metastore it looks pretty decent from the promo video, but when I played it, maybe 50% of it looked the same as the video.
00:43So I went into a quick play and it seems obvious of what to do.
00:47Destroy the other team's castle. Choose between Team Red or Team Blue.
00:51Now I really don't like the locomotive movement in games, so that put me off this game straight away.
00:56I understand why games have the option, but in today's standards, games need to offer a choice, but there is no smooth movement choice as yet to this game.
01:05So I made my way across the map, killed some enemies really easily, came across what I assume is the enemy's protector, which was a giant tree.
01:14It did take a lot more hits to kill, but it's still not much of a challenge.
01:18Then made it to the castle and I honestly didn't know what to do when I got there.
01:23It has a damage bar, but it didn't seem to go down when I attacked the castle.
01:27So I tried again in another game and this time I just spawn killed the enemy in their base because they just spawn in the same places.
01:35And then I just let my team attack the castle.
01:38It took a long time for it to get damage and then it just got stuck and wouldn't take any more damage for like 10 or 15 minutes.
01:46So I just had to quit the game.
01:48The level itself looked pretty decent and the enemies look decent, but it's just their movement, combat and intelligence that's the issue.
01:55It just gets a little boring to be honest.
01:57And then there was conquest mode, pick between three characters, bow and arrow, double crossbow or a wizard with magic.
02:05Then off you go, work your way to the end of the map, killing whatever you see.
02:09Now again, looks decent, maps are cool, they're kind of short.
02:13Enemies look good, but with the same problems, movement, combat and intelligence.
02:17There is just no challenge, no excitement.
02:19So you get to the end, you fight a boss, which this is actually quite fun.
02:24Not great, but there is a hint of excitement showing.
02:26Then once you're done, you get a congratulations screen along with some stats like enemies killed, damage taken, golden and total score.
02:34But again, not sure on the point of it all.
02:36Now what I do like that shows promise is playing the wizard character.
02:40You get three spells you can use and to change spells, you have to rotate your hands.
02:45So you get fire, ice and lightning spells.
02:49This takes some time getting used to, but this is actually quite fun.
02:52The menus also look good and fit in well with the game's theme.
02:56There is something in this game.
02:57It needs a lot of work to it.
02:59All the levels and sceneries look great and the weapons fire decent enough.
03:04I didn't have any trouble with them.
03:05Done with a bit of a touch-up to make them look better, but they're fine otherwise.
03:09So the problem for me is the enemies and the game modes, like when attacking the castle.
03:14Maybe have 20 of those giant trees and orcs in the game too.
03:18Then add booby traps around the place.
03:20Maybe like some walls and gates that you need to smash through to get through to the castle.
03:25Or defensive towers that you need to take out to get to the castle.
03:29Maybe even have it so you need to capture the flag and bring it back.
03:32Also have the smaller enemies have an assortment of weapons, not just shields and swords.
03:37They should also have bow and arrows, crossbows and wizards with magic.
03:41Then make the enemy smarter and have way more random spawn points,
03:46so you just can't stay in one place and just spawn kill.
03:48And then add smooth movement, not just the teleport.
03:51I just can't stand that.
03:53After all that, then the price tag would be worth about $20.
03:56But right now, it's just about okay to play as a free game.
