00:41This is Quantum Threshold
00:43by the developers Vaki Ltd
00:45and it was released on the 22nd of May 2025
00:49about the game. So this is a roguelike game
00:51built for seated playing only
00:53which is pretty unique. Your character
00:55is wheelchair bound and a fighting machine
00:57ready to take on the world of rogue AIs
01:00Collect weapons, collect money, top up your health
01:03I really do love the idea of this game
01:05Levels and size, I'll be honest
01:07I've no idea how big this game is
01:09because I haven't made it through a run as yet
01:11I mean, it's pretty tough, but it seems of an average size
01:14Each area is well designed, has a few different routes you can take
01:18Has nice use of colours and nice details
01:20I'd really love to see another 3 levels though
01:22and then mix them up for each time you go out on a run
01:25I think it would be really cool if they added some booby traps around as well
01:30Something to slow you down and look around a bit more
01:32Enemies and bosses
01:34The enemies are designed really well
01:36They look fantastic, many different types which is great
01:39And the boss character at the end of level 2 is really cool
01:42Though I wish they had obvious bosses at the end of each level
01:45and maybe make them a slightly a little bit more challenging
01:49Weapons
01:50Weapons offer pistols, automatic weapons, shotguns
01:53You have a holster on each side of the wheelchair
01:56and then you can hold a third weapon
01:58Leveling up options
02:00Leveling up options come by way of unlocking and buying weapon attachments
02:04Such as rails, lasers and sights
02:07And then you can also upgrade your wheelchair armour
02:10Health regeneration, health and faster boost recharge
02:14Mechanics
02:15For most part the game worked perfectly
02:17There was a couple of occasions when an enemy walked off into a wall
02:21Or an enemy would start shooting me through a wall as they were inside it
02:25And I couldn't shoot them through the wall
02:27Then there was an occasion I went up a ramp
02:29Then drove off an edge and got stuck behind some containers
02:32And I had no choice but to quit the game
02:34But other than that
02:35Everything ran really smoothly
02:37Controls
02:38Now this is a seated game
02:39And I really do like that idea
02:41But one thing I don't like
02:43Is that you have to actually grab and hold the controller in-game to move
02:48I think it should move when using just the left thumb stick
02:51Regardless of having to hold the in-game controller
02:54It does have a nice training exercise at the beginning
02:57In a classic 80's game vibe
02:59It looks really cool
03:00Game menus
03:01The menus look decent
03:02A little clunky and blocky
03:03Which I found a little difficult to read through
03:06When on the weapons accessories menu
03:08Because it feels a little bunched up
03:09But they are in theme with the game
03:11And offer you settings for gameplay
03:13Wheelchair turn type
03:15Snap, quick, smooth
03:16Then audio settings with controls for each
03:19Of master, effects, music and voices
03:22And then visual
03:24Where you can adjust the brightness and contrast by way of sliders
03:27My thoughts
03:28So I'll be honest
03:30I really didn't expect much from this
03:31But three hours later
03:33And I was still at it
03:34I really did enjoy the world they created here
03:37And having a reward system keeps you wanting more
03:40But it needs to be at least five times more than what it currently is
03:43I'd like to see way more choice in weapons
03:47Maybe some rocket launchers
03:48Heat seeking bullets
03:50Way more upgrades for guns
03:52And for your wheelchair
03:53Maybe things like invisibility for five seconds
03:56And shields that absorbs a certain amount of bullets before it disappears
04:00A one time electric charge for anything that gets close to the chair
04:03Maybe a magnetic chair that automatically collects items that are six feet away
04:08Then upgrade it so it becomes ten feet away, fifteen feet away and so on
04:12Like really play on the wheelchair element
04:15Plus some customisation options such as wheelchair designs, colours, glove designs, gun skins
04:22Just some fun factor
04:23And then I would really like to see the AI be a little smarter
04:27Like have some tactics of flanking you and so
04:30But the enemies do look fantastic
04:32And finally, and this is a big one
04:34The game really needs haptics
04:36As you can't tell when you are getting hit
04:38No feel of gunfire hitting you
04:40Or if an enemy walks up behind you and starts hitting you
04:43There's no rumble
04:44So you have no idea until you are dead
04:46Also there's nothing on your guns when you fire them either
04:49There should always be a quick kick when shooting a handgun
04:52And a longer rumble for automatic weapons
04:55But there's nothing
04:56So I hope they address this ASAP
04:58I do like this game
04:59It's worth checking out as it's different
05:01And I love that I can just sit in bed and play this one
05:04I love shooting games
05:06But I can't play them sitting down
05:08But this one is just made for sitting
05:10I'd like to see where this game is going to be in another year
05:13So overall I mark Quantum Threshold a 8.3 stars
