00:00This is Witchblood by the developers Hidden Path Entertainment and it was released on the 18th of
00:22July 2024. If you like games such as Max Mustard, Moss and Moss 2 then I think you might really
00:29enjoy this one. It's not as free movement as those I just mentioned but rather a side-scrolling game.
00:34I always stand up to play most games but this is a perfect sit-down and play game. The colours are
00:40vibrant, each screen has nice details. About the game. It's a simple classic story of a loved one
00:46gets murdered and you are out for revenge. In this case it's your father. You are playing the daughter
00:52and have discovered you possess magical powers so off you go to track down the man who killed your
00:58loved one. Levels and size. I couldn't tell you exactly how big this game is but it is big. They
01:04claim to have hundreds of rooms and I quite believe it. You will be in this game for a minimum of five
01:10hours but you can expect to double that if you play like I did. Completely lost with no sense of
01:15direction. Each room is well designed. Some simpler than others and then the backdrops sometimes just
01:21look amazing. I like the touch of having the map and the walls around the game screening area and it
01:28go so far up the wall and so far down but I do wish there was more to help in the general direction
01:33of which you are meant to go. As I swear I spent much of this game going around in circles and I
01:39did find it frustrating at times. Even a red flashing circle on a map to tell you where you are meant to
01:43reach would be helpful. It reminds me of the old classic games on the Commodore 64 where you could be
01:48walking around for days sometimes weeks until you found your way but in today's world I think many
01:54people don't have that kind of patience. Enemies and bosses. Enemies are not incredibly complicated
01:59but they do have their own unique pattern for you to learn and counter but don't worry if you die you
02:04just return back to your last health altar that you pass by. You will encounter people, ghouls, frogs,
02:11rock people, wolves, witches, rats and bats and more. Weapons. Nothing exciting in here. A lot of sword
02:18swooshing and then you have some magical powers which you cycle between by pushing a direction on the right
02:23joypad. Either ice, fire, wind and invisibility. Leveling up options. There is a leveling up system.
02:30Nothing huge or complex but as you run around the map you find things to level up your passive magic,
02:36elemental magic and your statue magic and then also your sword. I particularly like it when you level
02:41up from normal jump to double jump and then jump to glide. It does just enough to keep things
02:47interesting. Mechanics. I didn't notice any problems. The only issues I really had and it's not a huge
02:54deal but when in combat and looking up or down on your enemy she doesn't have an angle. She only hits
03:01face forward so if you are on a rock or a bump just slightly higher than your enemy you kind of miss.
03:07Ping in the ass with things like frogs and wolves. She should be able to automatically track the enemy
03:12though as you level up swords she starts swooshing her sword more up and down so the problem kind of
03:19rectifies itself. Puzzles. Now whilst there ain't too many puzzles in here the ones that are in here
03:25are not incredibly complicated. Just turning a few switches. Most turn one to get to another then to
03:32another then there might be a series of jumps you need to make a certain direction or route.
03:37Controls. Controls are really well laid out in this game and pretty average to get used to. The game
03:43sets out at a nice pace to learn and get used to them before introducing something else. I do like
03:49the use of the right control stick to choose which magic to use. It's quick and it's easy.
03:54Pass through. There is a pass through mode which takes out the map wall behind the screen box you play
03:59in. Nothing clever but it just is what it is. Game menus. You have a book which will offer you
04:05all your options. Volume sliders for each music, voice, effects, ambience and effects and then
04:12language settings. Then difficulty setting from casual, normal, hard and nightmare. Then also in
04:19that book you can see your passive, elemental and statue magic. Then controls and map. Anyway this is
04:26a great game just to sit down in your bed and relax with. Now go touch that like button and subscribe
04:31button. Thanks for watching guys and happy gaming.
