30 July- National weather forecast presented by Honor Criswick
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good afternoon. A brighter day ahead for many, though a chance some
00:04of us could see some thundery showers tomorrow. This afternoon, though, plenty
00:09of sunny spells to go around. That's away from the northwest, though, some thicker
00:13areas of cloud moving through here, possibly even some light outbreaks of
00:16rain pushing into Western Scotland. Any rain, though, should be clearing away
00:20from Northern Ireland, so a brighter afternoon here. And for many across
00:23England and Wales, it should be a dry end to the day. Some sunny spells,
00:27particularly breaking through across Wales, parts of the southwest, as we head
00:31later into the afternoon. And it is going to be feeling rather warm. Highs reaching
00:35around 25 degrees Celsius across the south. But even in northern areas, many towns
00:39and cities pushing into the low 20s. Now, it should be a dry evening for many. Once
00:45again, still plenty of clouds, some outbreaks of rain pushing eastwards across
00:48parts of Scotland. Then it's all eyes further south, this area of clouds, some
00:52showerier outbreaks pushing into parts of Wales and central parts of England by
00:57the morning. So it could be a damp start for some of us. But many areas once again
01:01remaining dry. But it is going to be a rather warm, muggy night once again. Some
01:05towns and cities across southern parts not pushing much past 16 to 17, possibly even
01:1018 degrees across southern parts of Wales. So a mild, muggy start to the day. And
01:17then all eyes across the south, some showery outbreaks here. And these possibly turning
01:22quite heavy as we head into the afternoon. And there is a good chance that we could start
01:26to see some thunderstorms. So some frequent lightning, some hail and also some gusty winds
01:31possible. And there has been a Met Office warning issued across southern and south
01:35eastern parts. So keep an eye on across our social media channels on our website for any
01:39details on those. Also a chance of some showers across eastern parts of Scotland, northeastern
01:44parts of England by the afternoon. But elsewhere, once again, plenty of sunny spells. Feeling
01:50warm, still quite muggy, particularly across the south. Once again, highs reaching 25 degrees
01:55Celsius. Now, we could start to see some thundery showers linger on, particularly across the
02:01southeast later into the afternoon before it eventually clears away. Still some showery
02:05outbreaks too along eastern coast. And starting to see some isolated showers push into the
02:10northwest. These eventually easing away there. A ridge of high pressure building across the
02:14west. And that leads to a rather fine day on Friday and for the beginning of the weekend.
02:19But draw your eyes towards Iceland. There's still some frontal systems waiting in the wings
02:24as we head later into Sunday. But for more details on the weather ahead, we can catch Alex
02:30Birkhill later with your 10 day trend on YouTube.
