Temperatures dropping more than recent nights. Into tomorrow morning, a brighter start for many, but cloud and scattered showers around. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 27/07/2025. 00:00Hello again. After what's been quite a cloudy and showery end to the weekend for some of us,
00:05as we move into Monday we are due to see the weather settle down somewhat and that's due to
00:09this large area of high pressure, the Azores High, ridging towards the UK to bring a more settled day
00:15for many. But this frontal system will bring a return to cloudier damper conditions again by
00:20Tuesday. So back to Sunday evening, most of the showers will fade away but just one or two heavier
00:24ones this evening across the very far southeast. Northeastern parts of Scotland as well seeing a
00:28few heavier showers and perhaps the old thunderstorm until around midnight. The showers overnight
00:33though tending to return back to coasts exposed to that northwestly breeze. So western parts of
00:38Scotland and perhaps northwest England seeing a few showers through the early hours. Elsewhere,
00:42many parts of eastern Scotland, England and Wales seeing a mixture of cloud and clear spells. So
00:47temperatures will actually drop a little bit lower tonight than they have done for some time. In the
00:52countryside we could even see lows of eight or nine degrees and maybe as low as five or six degrees
00:57across some parts of eastern Scotland. Towns and cities though holding up at 14 or 15 degrees. So
01:02not a particularly cold start for the towns and cities at least on Monday morning and there will
01:07be a fair bit of sunshine. So a much brighter picture for most of us on Monday. The sunshine giving way
01:13to somewhat more in a way of cloud as we go through the day and that cloud may all spark a scattering of
01:18fairly light showers across England and Wales. One or two showers moving into northern parts of Scotland as
01:23well but the vast majority of places will have a dry day on Monday and with more in a way of sunshine
01:29compared to Sunday I'm expecting temperatures to be a bit higher. So 24 or 25 Celsius in the southeast
01:35of England but even across the north and the west winds will be lighter so it should feel warmer
01:40and highs of 20 maybe 21 or so degrees in places. But notice out towards the west we've got this band of
01:48rain and cloud moving into northern Ireland through tomorrow evening. So turning damp here by midnight
01:53and that band of rain will slowly push its way southwards and eastwards into parts of southwest
01:58Scotland, England and Wales as we go into the early hours of Tuesday morning. So quite a damp picture by
02:04the end of the night across northern Ireland, western parts of England and Wales. Fairly extensive low
02:09cloud developing so misty murky conditions over the high ground and also in coastal spots but a pretty
02:15mild night out towards the west. Temperature's not falling much below 14 or 15 degrees. Slightly cooler
02:20elsewhere. Now the best of the weather on Tuesday is looking like being across the northeast of Scotland
02:25where we should get away with a largely dry day with some sunshine at times. Otherwise though a lot of
02:31cloud across the UK. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading their way southeastwards through the
02:36morning. As skies tend to brighten by the afternoon perhaps most likely across parts of Wales, central and
02:42southwestern England. We could spark off some fairly heavy showers and perhaps even the old thunderstorm but
02:47it will certainly be a very humid day particularly in the south and a sunshine quite warm with those
02:53temperatures into the mid-20s. But if you want to know what's going to happen for the rest of this
