00:00Sale GP Insights powered by Oracle Cloud enables teams to dive deeper into performance data.
00:07Not only can they analyse their own performance, but they can compare themselves to their rivals
00:12or to find the marginal gains that could make the difference in the Rolex Sale GP Championship.
00:18This season, we've seen Spain rise to the top, but the story isn't so simple.
00:24The Bond's Flying Roos have some of the best overall stats across the season so far.
00:29So how are Spain beating them?
00:32When we compare Australia and Spain's first four events to their last two events,
00:36you can see clearly that Spain improved, especially in New York.
00:40But let's delve deeper into what they're doing differently.
00:43In New York, New Zealand and Spain made the most manoeuvres, but Spain have the highest average speed.
00:50Interestingly, despite the max boat speed going to Australia, Spain are faster on average.
00:56They're smoother and more consistent across the course.
01:00Oh, Bottin and crew, what a job they've done on that first leg.
01:03Spain don't have the best stats for average distance lost during manoeuvres, but they do not deviate from their average,
01:10meaning they were consistently able to stick foiling tags when it mattered most, a big improvement in New York.
01:17And this enables them to find space on the race course to overtake and sail clean.
01:22What is interesting is that Spain sailed the least distance in San Francisco, but they sailed the furthest distance in New York,
01:36showing their ability and total confidence to make strategic changes depending on the venue.
01:43The confidence we are getting in setting these boats comes from a lot of work, a lot of data analysing together,
01:49looking at it the same way and then mechanising all the stuff, making all those things internal muscle memory for us.
01:57Doing good manoeuvres and pulling them off consistently, it requires a very in-depth understanding of all the physical forces that you can have in manoeuvres.
02:10That could be like just a degree or half a degree of heel, just the momentum through a turn and many more things which obviously we keep for us.
02:20Tactical masterclass here from Spain. That bit of software they've built for themselves has got to be helping Simone get accurate information to the F-50.
02:29We can see from this app all the laylands based on different wind sources, so this app allows me to give more accurate information to them
02:38and probably a bit easier to process for them even if they are in an hectic situation.
02:42Canada will duck.
02:44Very nice tideline.
02:46The most difficult thing is to understand when I can speak and when I can give you the information.
02:51We want always to have an edge on the others and try to gain something.
02:54I think this software is allowing you to be a step ahead.
02:57A few other stats to get you thinking about who might shake up the standings.
03:01Denmark have the best manoeuvres, losing the least distance per attack and jibe on average, but they make the fewest overtakes.
03:09France made the most overtakes in New York, but they'll need some better starts if they want to make more finals this season.
