00:00against threats anytime, anywhere. We are getting this news as we are following the very latest
00:06out in the Middle East. I want to transition to give you a live look out in Gaza.
00:10As we follow the very latest this Monday morning, you see plumes of smoke there in the distance.
00:16This information coming on the heels of breaking news we're following from the Associated Press
00:22that the UN Food Agency, they are accusing Israel this morning of using tanks, snipers,
00:28and other weapons to fire on a crowd of Palestinians seeking food aid. The territory's
00:34health ministry saying it was one of the deadliest days for aid seekers in over 21 months of the war.
00:42AP goes on to report that the World Food Program in a statement condemns the violence that erupted
00:48in northern Gaza as Palestinians tried to reach a convoy of trucks carrying food. The health
00:53ministry in Gaza saying at least 80 people were killed in the incident. The Israeli
00:58military has said it fired warning shots to quote, remove an immediate threat, but has questioned
01:04the death toll reported by the Palestinians. The accusation by a major aid agency that has
01:10generally good working relations with Israel builds on descriptions by witnesses and others who also say
01:17Israel open fired on the crowd. The bloodshed surrounding aid access highlights the increasingly precarious
01:24situation for people in Gaza who have been desperately seeking out food and other assistance.
01:29This as the war that has rolled the region shows no signs of ending Israel and Hamas are still engaged
01:35in ceasefire talks, but there appeals to be no breakthrough and it's not yet clear whether any
01:41truce would bring the war to a lasting cult. Again, giving you a live look out in Gaza, plumes of smoke
01:47seen in the distance. We also have this live look at the Israel-Gaza border. Of course, we're keeping a
01:53close eye on all of these breaking news alerts as it relates to conflicts in the Middle East. You can
01:58rely on LiveNow from Fox for the most up-to-date and accurate information. Stepping aside for another
02:04two-minute commercial break. We'll be right back.
02:34So
04:34We were following the very latest out in the UK as the NATO Ukraine Defense Group, they held their opening statements before closed door sessions. Let's head inside and listen in.
05:14By evening, he fires drones and missiles at Ukrainian citizens and civilians. Putin wants to buy time with this cynical game. He believes that his military machine will prevail in the long run, but he is mistaken.
05:58We're joining forces to support Ukraine with all our might.
06:02First and foremost, this requires us to urgently bolster Ukrainian air defense.
06:09Germany will provide additional air defense systems and much-needed ammunition.
06:15On top of that, I agreed with Pete Hexet during my trip to Washington, D.C. last week that Germany will contribute to providing the five urgently needed patriot systems as quickly as possible.
06:29How we can achieve that is something we will coordinate closely and in a spirit of mutual trust among partners within the next few days.
06:39I already want to thank Secure for his support in bringing this coordination to a successful conclusion.
06:46Germany and its partners will also contribute to this effort with the resources that we are currently mobilizing as part of our enduring action on air defense.
06:58Let me take this opportunity to thank Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and Norway for their significant contributions here.
07:05Only a few weeks after the relaunch of the initiative, there are already indications that we can significantly top last year's success.
07:16In addition, we will, together with our British friends, provide 220,000 rounds of 35-millimeter ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft gun system at short notice, financed by Germany.
07:30To protect the skies above the Ukraine, we have to support the Ukrainian armed forces in their offensive efforts to weaken Russia's aerial warfare capabilities.
07:43That is why we are financing the comprehensive procurement of long-range UAVs from Ukrainian production.
07:51These systems are already proving their value on the battlefield.
07:55They are destroying Russian aircraft, drones and missiles on the ground well before they can pose a threat to Ukraine, its urban centers or infrastructure.
08:07The first systems, financed by Germany, will be delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces within the next few days and will be ready for immediate use.
08:15And we are going to strengthen this capability further by providing additional investment and arranging a close technical cooperation between the German and the Ukraine defense industries.
08:28This sends a clear message to Putin, dragging out the war will come at an ever higher cost to him.
08:38Ukraine will continue to successfully defy Putin's war machine and will weaken it a little more every day.
08:46It is our duty, colleagues, and our obligation to actively support our Ukrainian friends in this regard.
08:53Thank you so much.
08:54Thank you, Boris.
09:01Can I now turn to Dennis and then to Rustem?
09:06And after we've heard from them, I will ask the press that are on this call at present to withdraw,
09:15and then we'll move into the battlefield update led by General Horbachev.
09:19Thank you so much, dear ministers, dear secretaries, dear colleagues and partners, friends.
09:27Thank you for supporting Ukraine in our fight for peace.
09:30It is an honor to address you today as Ukraine's new minister of defense,
09:35and I look forward to working closely with all of you.
09:39Our partnership is vital to Ukraine's strength and resilience, but before we begin, I would like to invite my colleague,
09:47former minister of defense, Secretary of National Security Council, Rustem Umarov, to share his remarks.
09:54So, Mr. Secretary, dear Rustem, the floor is yours.
09:58Thank you very much, dear colleagues, partners, friends.
10:01Today marks my 14th and final Rammstein session since I first stood among you in September 2023.
10:09It has been one of the greatest honors of my lifetime to represent Ukraine in this form of unity.
10:16Throughout my time as a minister of defense, only one purpose has guided my heart,
10:21to secure Ukraine's independence and ensure freedom of our people.
10:25I've dreamed every day a future where our children grow up without sirens, without fear,
10:31where every family feels safe in their own home, because everyone deserves that.
10:37Over the last two years, we've built more than a defense effort.
10:42We've forged a united coalition.
10:44We've launched joint production, welcomed your defense companies to Ukraine,
10:48and brought our companies to your countries.
10:50This is an investment both in security of today and prosperity of the future.
10:56Our transition of leadership is a part of that future.
11:00It is my honor to pass the torch to the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Dany Shmahal.
11:06Just as you have trusted me over these two years, I invite you to put your trust in Minister Shmahal.
11:13Minister Shmahal takes on this role with the strength and experience.
11:17The mission continues with the same clarity, the same urgency.
11:21In 2025, international security assistance for Ukraine reached a record-breaking 43 billion,
11:28the highest figure since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
11:31Together with our partners, we built nine functional capability coalitions.
11:36We launched the transfer of F-16s and Mirages.
11:39We invited the drone coalition, granting us technological advantage on the battlefield.
11:43And as this mission carries forward, the impact of your support continues to echo where it matters more,
11:51on the front lines with those who risk everything for our freedom.
11:57Ukraine is no longer just a recipient.
12:00We are now a fully-fledged contributor to joint production.
12:03Over the past two years, we have invested more than 20 billion into our own defense industry.
12:08Today, nearly 40% of frontline needs are covered domestically,
12:12and 95% of drones used at the front are made in Ukraine.
12:16I want you to know...
