00:00July 17th, The Precious Blood, Love that Transforms the Ordinary
00:05The Precious Blood of Jesus does not only reach into the dramatic moments of our lives,
00:11it transforms the ordinary.
00:14The blood that fell upon Golgotha also sanctifies our kitchens, workplaces, and quiet routines,
00:21if we let it.
00:23Jesus did not come only to save us from sin, but to redeem every moment of our day,
00:29to draw it into his sacrifice, and to fill it with eternal meaning.
00:34The Precious Blood is not just for the hour of death, it is for the living now.
00:40How easily we forget this.
00:42We seek God in mountaintop moments, but feel disconnected in the daily grind.
00:48Yet Jesus lived thirty years in hiddenness before his public ministry.
00:53In those years, the same blood flowed through him,
00:56the same blood that would be offered at Calvary.
01:00That means the Precious Blood was already redeeming the world in silence,
01:05in obedience, in ordinary holiness.
01:08And it still does today.
01:10When we consecrate our daily work, our meals,
01:14our interactions to the Precious Blood,
01:16we begin to see with new eyes.
01:18There is no part of life that Christ cannot sanctify with his blood
01:37if we invite him into it.
01:39St. Jose Sanchez del Rio, though young, grasped this deeply.
01:45During the Cristero War in Mexico, at just fourteen years old,
01:50he chose martyrdom over denying his faith.
01:53He had helped the soldiers cook meals,
01:55clean horses, and serve in quiet ways,
01:58ordinary tasks offered in love.
02:00But when the time came to testify,
02:03he did so boldly, crying,
02:06Viva Cristo Rey!
02:07as his feet were cut,
02:09and he was forced to walk to his execution.
02:12His final act was to write in his own blood,
02:15We will see each other in heaven.
02:17The blood of Christ had already sanctified his youth
02:20and strengthened him in death.
02:22Like Jose, we are called to sanctify the ordinary
02:25until it becomes extraordinary in the eyes of God.
02:28And it is the precious blood that gives us the grace to do so,
02:33not by our strength,
02:34but by his love transforming all things from within.
02:38Let us pray.
02:40Jesus, let your precious blood flow through the moments of my day.
02:44Sanctify the hidden places,
02:46the chores, the frustrations,
02:48the conversations I will have.
02:51Teach me to offer all things to you with love.
02:54Through the intercession of St. Jose Sanchez del Rio,
02:57help me to live my ordinary life with extraordinary faith.
03:02Let your blood transform every corner of my heart
03:04and make all things holy.
03:07Amen.
